Higher Culture – In a land of vidiots, there is good news: Houston has Da Camera, a chamber music society that brings avant-garde music and jazz together in eclectic, strangely satisfying productions. The society's success, both in terms of membership and critical acclaim, has a great deal to do with artistic director Sarah Rothenberg's proclivity for mixing live chamber music with visual and literary elements. There is something for just about everyone in a Da Camera season, in a format that is as intellectually stimulating as it is entertaining.
