Blair is the bomb!!!. I called Hot Tops and got an appointment with Blair and she was so knowledgeadle about everything she did my hair and it never looked so good.

Skilled and well priced!. I'm 25 and have thick, longer hair; which most stylists don't know how to cut. I don't like overstyled looks, just more natural with a bit of flair.

I'm new to Houston and went to Jill after having several nightmare haircuts from "stylists" that would be better off cutting vegetables than hair. I was so reluctant to get another cut that I waited almost 6 months since my last one, and I was really looking awful!

Jill listened to ALL of my concerns (even my horror stories) and before cutting gave me a complete run-down of what she planned to do and made sure I was okay with every step of it. She was so kind in trying to accomodate my needs and worries, and she defintiely did not get scissor happy! She did thin it out a good bit though, so if you don't like that, you may want to tell her. She didn't talk much while cutting, but it was evident that she likes to concentrate on her work, and was very friendly when not in mid-snip.

She did use a razor to cut some framing around my face, which I normally do not like, but she is very skilled at it and for the first time I didn't mind the razor cutting.

The environment of the shop is really cozy, in a very stylishly remodeled former home, and would make just about anyone feel welcome. They receive clientele of all ages and backgrounds: from the lil elderly ladies getting their bi-weekly fluff, to the young, handsome gay men who always look their best.

Finally, after everything else had checked out good I began to approach the counter to pay for my new 'do wondering how much damage my bank account was about to endure. To my surprise, only $45! And, when I left a tip, they gave me a sample product/christmas gift! I almost dropped dead of sheer joy as I am used to paying at least $75 for cuts from Edward Scissorhands' relatives.

Overall, if you really have no idea of where to go and need a definite sure bet, call Hot Tops!

Jeffrey Parker is AWESOME!!. I've been looking for a new hair dresser for a while now and have specifics on how I want my hair to look. I met Jeffrey and knew instantly that he'd do a great job cutting and styling my hair based on his past experience alone. He's been in the business for over 15 years and as soon as I told him how I wanted my hair cut (a few inches off the back and big sweeping bangs), after a glass of wine and a lot of great conversation, I was looking back at myself in the mirror and my hair looked EXACTLY how I wanted it to ! That RARELY happens! He's definitely got a client for life with me and I think he's just wonderful! Ask For Jeffery Parker and you won't be disappointed. : ) Jeny P.

I'm so glad I reconnected with Jesse!!!. I used to see Jesse at Toni and Guy @ Willowbrook mall. He moved away for a couple of years and is now BACK IN HOUSTON @ HOT TOPS HAIR STUDIO in montrose!!! I'm so excited to reconnect with him. Jesse Cougot is so amazing. I was lost when he was gone. If you live in the Montrose you have no excuse not to try him out for amazing cut and color. If you live in the burbs...the drive is worth it. He is willing to stay late on weekdays for anybody! I love you Jesse. You ROCK!!! Thank you for moving back!

i was scared!. scared to cut all my hair off i've been growing it out for 2 years! but it was time and JESSIE promissed me i would love it and i do. he is AWESOME, he gave me a rockin shortish cut and i totally love it! i will def be going back to jessie from now on!

Question about clientele?. What would you all say is the average age group of their clientele? I'm 19 and go to St. Thomas which is the only reason I even saw the place, and after reading the reviews I'd love to check it out. However, I don't want to be the only one under the age of sixty there, know what I mean? :p

From "Soccer Mom Drab" to "Happy Husband Hot" in one easy step!. I am accustomed to waiting for at least a week to get an appointment at a salon, but not this time! The same day I called, I was given an appointment that evening with Jesse. He stayed late, even though the A/C was out, to take care of me. Jesse ROCKS! He listened to what I wanted, took the time to evaluate my hair and current cut and then explained everything he was going to do BEFORE he even shampooed my hair. He did some of the cutting with my hair wet, blew it dry and cut the rest. I have to say, this is the absolute best cut I have had and I would totaly recommend him to anyone! He also took into consideration my "low maintenance" life style and gave me a cut that I could let dry or blowdry and have it still look awesome. I expected treatment like this to cost big bucks, but the price was VERY reasonable and I have already made an appointment to go back so that I can keep my hair looking hot. I have to say the best reaction I got to my cut was from my husband...he was wowed (especially when we went out and it only took me 10 minutes to get my look together)! Thanks Jesse!

feels so good 2 B back. I was a old client of MARK's. When he passed away I went to lauren, and she did a good job .but she was no MARK! After she moved salon's for the second time,I gave up following. SO I called for a appointment @HOT TOPS I called kind of late and JESSE one of the newest stylists stayed late just for me .thank Q JESSE !!!!!!!! YOU MADE ME SO HAPPY .He was very professional and did a clean job with my color & hi-lites not all over my face & clothes.HOT TOPS is the best mark would be proud .

Great Salon. very comfortable salon felt right at home. Jesse took my hair to bad to beautiful . He is someone who knows his color.
