“The staff are the friendliest - from the owners, the chef and the bartenders - everyone is great!”
Community Treasure.
I believe they just re-opened. These folks are all about the community and it is a perfect place to hang in Montrose on a beautiful day.
It's fun in the sun, on their deck too.
BEST FOOD EVER EATEN AT A BAR!!. Wow, the food here is amazing!! The sliders rock, the chicken crispers have the best flavor - 5 star restaurant detail on fast food - FAB!!! The staff are the friendliest - from the owners, the chef and the bartenders - everyone is great! This is an A+ neighborhood bar in the museum district.
Wow! This place is RAD!!!. I have to say, I didn't have high hopes...I thought, "Just another sports bar right?" Well, I was wrong. We showed up for my best mate's first divorce party and they totally took care of us! In my 32 years I've never been to a more predictable place. It was exactly what I as a young professional was looking for. Not much variety, but who wants to make decisions when all you wanna do is get drunk! I can't wait to return!
I Love this place!!!. Ernie?s on Banks is one of the best bars I have been to in Houston. It?s a great addition to the Montrose/Museum District neighborhood. Natalie, the bartender, was nice enough to let us use her personal darts. The burgers were terrific. I heard they have live bands sometimes, but not the night we were there. They did have killer tunes on the jukebox though. I definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a sports bar with an intimate neighborhood vibe. I will undoubtedly go back.
Someone's house no less!. Good idea for a bar, but poorly executed. Too many college kids for my liking. Poor selection of beer and poor beer. Could be a winner, but no imagination and will probably die a slow uneventful death. Sorry but avoid if you are above 30.
This cozy two-story bar caters to the more refined sports fan..
In Short
A gallery of vintage baseball caps, including a rare 25-year-old ESPN hat, is the centerpiece of the main room. Other than two TVs, pool tables and a lone video game, there's very little to the main bar area. The upstairs bar and patio (open every Monday through Saturday) is much nicer, and perfect for catered parties.Baylor College of Medicine students, University of Houston drama students and residents from the nearby Museum Towers form the majority of this diverse crowd.
disappointing.
I was supremely disappointed in this establishment. I have never been treated so rudely by a bartender in my entire life. Advertised as a "sports bar", the bartender left the bar and walked all the way to the corner of the bar to turn down the volume on the smallest television in the place which was showing an NFL playoff game. In a "sports bar", a bartender, wielding self-believed power, turned down the volume on a 15-inch television because it was interfering with the jukebox (which hadn't had a quarter put in it for over an hour!)
My wife and I had just moved to the area and were looking forward to visiting the neighborhood sports bar. However, after being treated with causeless rudeness, I will never darken its door and press you to do the same.
ERNIE'S ROCKS!. Great Place! Friendly People! Fun Atmosphere! And the Door Man is HOT!
