Beatrice is the best bartender at Chances.. Hi Bea,

It is me, Sally and Kara, the nerds that loved to mess with you at Chances.

We loved you and we missed you during the remodel of the burned down part of Chances. We have not been back since we found out you moved to the other location down town. Hope we finally find out where you are working so we can have you make our drinks. We have missed you and your girlfriend Doris, the Houston policeman.

Please tell us where you are making those spectacular dirty martinies these days!!!

You walk into Chances, and the first thing you notice are the multicolored streamers--hundreds of them--hanging cheerfully from the ceiling. The colors vary with the season, but they always give the place a feeling of carefree happiness. The bar has been the host of many benefits and fund-raisers (it's raised half a million dollars for AIDS and breast-cancer research) and is an active supporter of the Montrose Women's Clinic.

I always have fun..... I've been going to Chances for a while now, usually once or twice a week (especially during L-word season) and I always have a good time. I think your editorial profile is a little out-of-date. The crowds are pretty friendly. It's not the trendiest bar I've ever been to, but to have a lesbian bar that has live music, karaoke and some pretty good DJ's on the weekend rates high with me! I agree with the other reviewer on this one! I'd highly recommend a thursday or saturday at this club.

New Year 2005. My gf and I spent New Years with the wonderful folks at Chances, while I must agree most of the staff is pretty cold, the ladies in the lounge were wonderful! Michelle is an excellant friendly bartender. Music was good, crowd got along, just a wonderful night in all. I have been there on other occasions and must say I would write the same review. Just a nice place to hang out

Rude bartenders. I was a new lesbian in town and when I came inside, I noticed a group of regulars there. The bartenders are so rude, they made me wait at least 10 minutes before I got served because they were talking to their friends. I experienced a very cold environment from the staff and the regular customers there. I will never go back there again.

Chances is a great place on weekends. If your looking for a place to relax or a weekend and have fun and take your friends Chances is defenitly the place good beer and shots not expensive. 3 different bars always a place for you. Pool tables music you pick. You can always find some cute women there too and don't forget Thursday night for Fluff the Kat an awesome band along with open mic.
