The Ripcord, the "Leather" bar in Houston, Texas, has a management team that is not concerned about the customers or the employees......It seems, since the employees are segregated by physical handicaps.

What? Spotless restrooms?

Who the hell wrote that? Spotless restrooms? I won't even write in here the things I have seen in those restrooms out of respect for the bar staff. I have been going to the Rip for almost 10 years now and I have to say it is not what is was 10 or even 20 yrs ago (before my time). I like the "different" types of gay men it brings in. I sit on the patio and people watch (not recomended on a day it has rained or early summer due to mosquitos, its damp out there). You get to meet some of Houston's more friendler gay men most have either been here for a million years or are natives like me. Not a place to bring women unless they are into leather and don't mind being looked at strange.

• Pros: Nice People
• Cons: The Restrooms

Depends on what your looking for

This isnt your "preppytype" bar. Like most leather bars you have to go there the right night to get anything out of it. Saturdays are the best, rest of the week is pretty slow. If your not big in to smoking then stay away from the bar, but keep in mind that this is "Leather" bar and smoking is a big part. Twinks are also welcomed, but dont wear anything bright colored or too preppy. Jeans, t-shirts and boots work.

• Pros: lots of action on the right night
• Cons: they could use better scenery on the TVs
