In Short – This Montrose cubbyhole run by an endearing mom-and-pop duo has just four tiny tables and seats go fast. Start with mofongo: mashed plantains with pork and tons of garlic. Pollo guisado is stewed all-day, and comes with a platter of kidney beans and Spanish rice (kick it up with the green sauce). Pechuga empanizada is a chicken breast with a coating of garlic and pepper. Homemade, caramel-y sweet flan ends the meal.

This place is small but good things come in small packages!
All of the food here is absolutely delicious but the carne frita is my favorite! This place has won tons of Marvin Zindler awards.
The atmosphere makes you feel like you're back at home in Puerto Rico :)
I would highly recommend this place to everyone!

Prices have gone up, food's still good

Expect to pay around $18 for food and a drink. It's still tasty, but probably not worth the price.
- Pros: authentic
- Cons: expensive
