The Scene – This "steam table" luncheonette has been feeding hungry, hard-working folks since the 1940s. In the summer of 2003, the pleasantly shabby establishment underwent a major expansion, even adding an outdoor deck and a bar. It's bigger and better looking, but the appeal remains the same--down-to-earth comfort food at reasonable prices. It's as convenient and affordable as a cafeteria, yet the quality is uniformly superior. – – The Food – Choose from six to eight fresh entrees, with a daily changing menu. Hearty standards like meat loaf, roast beef, turkey and…

I went to harry's w my mom for breakfast on Sunday and the food was great. My mom enjoyed her eggs and bacon and I loved the omelette and hashbrowns. The portions were generous and the service suberb! Thanks for a great meal =)
- Pros: zucchini omelette and rice pudding!
Great Breakfast and Lunch!!!!
by houstoninnerlooper at Citysearch
We have been going to Harrys for years and we enjoy the food there. It is owned by a man by the name of Johnny, even though it is named Harrys (the previous owner?). His wife works there and so does their daughter. She is an excellent chef. Anyway, breakfast is delicious. We usually get the greek omelot, shrimp omelot, or waffle with the spicy chicken strips. Yes, good combination. The O.J. is fresh squeezed. Coffee is always hot and fresh. The only downside are the biscuits. I have to have mine "hot from the oven" and here they are just warm . I recommend just getting the toast in lieu of biscuits. For lunch, my favorite is served on Mondays, Mousakka (spelling?). The best in town and not greasy. Actually though, I am kind of boring - I typically order a vegetable plate. The vegetables are fresh and delicious. Whatever you order, it is served cafeteria style. You get to see what you will be ordering. And a tip - if there's not enough on your plate, just ask for more. They've always told me no problema. And another tip: There is a private dining room that the restaurant offers at no charge if you dine there. You are not rushed and it's a perfect meeting place. Enjoy!!!
- Pros: Always fresh food!
- Cons: Here, there are none!
Kudos To The Platsas Family During Ike!!!
by PierceArmelin at Citysearch
To the Platsas family, I salute you for being a restaurant that helped those who came in, and you gave hot meals as you prepared for opening the next day! Your family thought selflessly of others before yourselves, and you gave ice to those who needed it! THANK YOU as I was one of them!
And for all of you that keep ranting about potatoes out of a box there....Harry's is an open kitchen restaurant.
You can see all the cooking and preparation at the breakfast bar. The potatoes are peeled and cooked before your eyes, as is all the foods!
If you have a minor complaint about something you experienced at Harry's, don't make a mountain out of a hill, and turn the good name of a dedicated familys service to you and the rest of us into something it is not.
It is no longer a review after that, just charachter assassination.
KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK FOLKS!
You made a lot of people with some despair very happy, and I am sure that they as well as I will never forget it!
