A big mistake. I have an '89 Mustang 5.0 that I took there a week or two ago. Normally, I do my own work on the car, and I only take it to a mechanic for a problem that is over my head or requires tools I don't have access to.

Basically:

I took the car there and they charged me $2,100 and I got it back in worse condition than I left it.

The full story:

I took the car in for a couple reasons. Most importantly, the oil pressure gauge would drop to zero while I was driving and could sometimes cause the car to stall if I took pressure off of the accelerator, I mentioned I thought it might be related to the multiple oil leaks the car had. Of less concern was the fact that when I started the car, my key would turn past the "run" position to the point that it shut off the motor. It wasn't a big concern because I had a coat hanger that held it in place with no problem. I also wanted an alignment. Naturally, the only thing he could quote a price for was the alignment, which was going to be $89.99, a good $30 more expensive than at other shops.

I picked my car up a little over a week later, paid $2,100 bucks ($425 of which went into changing the oil pan gasket), and got in my car to find that the problem in the steering column had been fixed, but the lense over the gauge cluster had been cracked, and it had a vacuum leak. I figured a hose had just slipped off some where, so I fixed the vacuum leak in the parking lot, and David said I could bring the car back to replace the broken cover. On the way home, I found that the oil pressure problem had not been fixed, and and also, there was a brand new charging problem. Granted, I told them only to fix certain oil leaks they found because just labor on all of them would cost over $2,400 for some outrageous reason. I called them, and David said I could bring it back and they would look at it.

When I took it back, they put it up on the lift, and showed me that the leaks I asked them to fix were indeed adequite. They also replaced the gauge cluster cover, as promised. However, the mechanic told me that he was fairly sure that replacing the oil sending unit would fix the pressure problem.... If he knew that, why wasn't it mentioned when I was deciding which things to have them fix, given that the pressure problem was listed as my main concern? Furthermore, they plugged their computer into it, and the computer said the alternator was bad. They said it wasn't their fault because alternators go out all the time.

At this point, someone besides David began to deal with me. He stood far too close for comfort, spoke too fast, and was very aggressive. After a long time arguing, he finally agreed to replace the alternator, after telling me that without a reciept, I couldn't get a replacement one for free from Autozone. I told him I didn't want his hands on my car again, especially not to do a 10 minute job that I could do, and that for $100 (the cost of an alternator from Autozone) I would leave. He refunded the $100 and I left.

The next day, I took the alternator to Autozone, and they said it was indeed under warranty, and I didn't need the receipt. However, upon testing it, they found that there was, in fact, nothing wrong with it. Either they lied to me to avoid having to actually do work (as opposed to plugging in a computer) to find out what was wrong, or their computer was wrong.

Either way, they caused a charging problem, a vacuum leak, and broke the gauge cluster cover, and left me to find out about it on my own, and didn't want to take responsibility for the actual problem that they caused.

The work they did seems fine, but over all, they are way over priced and will not hold themselves accountable for damaging your vehicle unless you spend an hour or so arguing. I am very dissatisfied and will never go there again.

Oil Change. I took my 95 BMW in for a oil change, at this point i'm uneasy about having this shop do any additional work on my car. When i checked the oil the next day it looked dirty as if the filter was not changed and the oil indicator was not reset. I asked for an estimate to have the thermostat and water pump changed out as preventative maintainance. I was quoted $200.00 in parts and nearly $400.00 in labor, hardly a fair price on Labor!! I have owned 3 BMW's prior to this one and it seems that when i take my car to a mechanic i am quoted double to triple the price because of the make of car! There is NO WAY they should charge #400.00 labor for this job, the water pump is in front of the engine its a simple job. Just because i am a woman doesn't mean that i am ignorant i have been around cars all my life....i doubt i will use them again! It cost me $103.00 for an oil chnge

Have worked with Cyrus for years. Had worked with Cyrus for years while he was at Greenway Mercedes, and would follow him anywhere. He was great there, and now that he has taken over new ownership of Montrose Car Care Center, he has done all of the work on our cars at his new shop. As always, he's been very professional, incredibly responsive, and very fair on price. From reading these reviews, it sounds like the prior owners were not so great, but I can say from direct personal experience that Cyrus always has been, and continues to be, a class act. Sorry to hear that some might think these reviews are contrived, but I can assure mine is not!

What a bunch of bull...... All these reviews positive within days from each other. Please, we consumers are not that dumb. I've been here unorganized and messy. They work outside.

Honest, Fair, and Unbiased Auto Repair. Cyrus gave me a fair estimate and took care of my repairs quickly. I have two small kids and depend on my car to get them to school and back. I had issues with my brakes and radiator at the same time and I called Cyrus and was happy to find out he was now at Montrose Car Care which is close to home and my kids school. The convenience was good but the best is how quickly Cyrus and his team were able to fix my car. He gave me several options to save me money and time and kept posted on the repair status of my car the entire time. I have never had an auto shop go above and beyond to take care of me with understanding of how important it was to get my car back to me in a timely manner. He took care of my car and my situation as if he were taking care of his own family.

I have never had such personalized service in the automotive world!!!

I would recommend Montrose Car Care and Cyrus to anyone and I am confident that he and his team is going give the same service and care that I get each time I go.

The best in town. Montrose Car Care Center is the best in town.

I used to take my Mercedes-Benz cars to Mercedes-Benz of Houston Greenway, one of the largest M-B dealerships in the country. After several disappointing service advisors, I had great experience with Cyrus, who always provided excellent, honest, punctual service. When he was promoted to Service Manager, his qualities quickly became entrenched in the entire Service team there.

Recently Cyrus left M-B Greenway to take over management of Montrose Car Care Center. He brought with him the best service advisors and techs, as well as his commitment to running a top-notch service organization.

I had read less-than-favorable reviews of Montrose Car Care Center from before the management change, but I can personally attest that this business is in great hands now. I have taken three cars there: a Mercedes-Benz SLK 350, a Honda Civic EX, and a Smart ForTwo Passion, and the service is every bit what I would expect from a top-tier dealership--except the price is much lower!

The new Montrose Car Care Center is my go-to auto shop and I recommend it without hesitation to all my friends.

Why would I go anywhere else?. I brought my 2nd car here the other day because one shop told me that it needs about $1200.00 worth of repairs, Montrose car care fixed it for $475.00. I trust this shop and will recommend it to all my family and friends.

WE FOUND OUR NEW REPAIR SHOP. My partner and I lived in the Montrose area for a few years and tried several auto repair shops in the area but couldn't find the one that we could trust with our cars(we have several nice cars)

We tried this one in the past too, but no luck. The other day my neighbor told me about the new management, so I decided to try them again. I came in here and asked for an estimate for a new timing belt on my Lexus. Wow, what a pleasant surprise. Not only the price was fair they also saved us a great deal of money by double checking the Lexus dealer's additional repair recommendations, none was needed at this time.

I will bring all of our cars to this repair shop in the future.

Thanks again guys and welcome to the neighborhood, I will recommend you guys to everybody.

Good communication + follow up. Went here after a recommendation by a friend. I have been here two times.

The first time, I took my car for an issue with the car starting. I was dropped off by one of their employees at my work. A few hours later, I received a call from Cyrus who informed me that my battery needed to be replaced. Simple fix, and he changed it out for me quickly. I expected the problem to cost me much more. I picked up the car, and sure enough, everything worked fine.

The second time, I dropped the car off for some routine maintenance: flush the fluids, brake inspection, oil change. This was once again done professionally.

Both times I received a follow up call from their staff asking if everything was alright. That's the kind of service you'd expect from dealerships, not a local mechanic shop! Very impressed, and I'd recommend them to others.
