Founded in 1901 in Chicago by Charles R. Walgreen Sr., this neighborhood pharmacy has grown to be one of the nation's largest drugstore chains. Each store carries 25,000 different items--from cleaning products to electronics and greeting cards. Store features include a computerized system connecting pharmacies nationwide via satellite, grocery-store food aisles, one-hour photofinishing and an automated phone system for prescription refills and pre-arranged pickup times. Other services include in-store flu shots and childhood immunizations.

Good service. This review is actually not a rebuttal to the previous one -- the fact that they both pertain to the service at this Walgreen's is purely coincidental. That said, I searched out this location on the site because I had a great experience there recently. I was in Texas on vacation and needed to get a prescription filled; got to the pharmacy too late that Sunday evening, but members of the friendly staff gave me directions to another nearby location with a 24-hour pharmacy. I was impressed by how patient they were (not being from there, I needed some ultra-thorough directions). I found my way to the other location with no problem and deeply appreciated the help.
