“As many times as I have been there it is inconceivable that anyone could be disappointed with this great store!”
“VERY rude women said I had to pick up my shoes by 4 pm that day or she was throwing them in the garbage.”
“had a horrible experience at the Houston Shoe Hospital which left me in tears, bootless in mid winter, and out 120+ dollars for what I consider very destructive work!”
“They MIGHT do fantastic work, but personality and professional conduct go a long way to instill customer confidence.”
Best of what? Fake snobbery and condescension? The owner was a total joke, and his lackey female worker knew almost less than my kindergartener about leather! I did get quite a kick out of their practiced, fake snobbery and attitudes though - it was like watching trailer trash try to go down the red carpet in cutoff shorts! Made my day after I got over the initial "WTF?" of them thelling me they only deal with 'high-end shoes' when I brought in 7 pairs of Monolo, Coach, Ferragamo & Joan and Davids! I realized quickly that they just say things to try to make you feel inadequate and them feel like they are better than you! If you need a good laugh one day, stop by with your nice shoes!! Then promptly leave the store WITH your shoes and take them to a REAL repair shop!!!
Worse place ever!!!. I would not even give them a star. What a bunch of rude, ignorant people. My podiatrist suggested this place to repair the heels on some Dansko shoes. When I got to the store the answer I received is that they do not repair low end stuff, exactly word per word as he said it. I also had a purse that needed repair on the strap and again, same answer because he could not find a brand. He couldn't find a brand because the purse is foreign. It wasn't until I specified that both of the purses were over $500 each that he even took the time to check the purses and said that there was nothing to be done. I took them to another shoe repair shop in the Rice neighborhood and they had no problem taking them and repairing them. Don't waste time to even walk into this establishment.
Only Thing Missing Is Rod Serling. If I didnt know better when we walked into this place it felt like going on set to film an episode of the tv show The Twilight Zone. What a trip - the place no doubt is owned operated by a couple shouting & screaming like wild boars - the quote on repairs was multiples of the true cost at other places and the guy running this place proud to declare that he does not need anybodys business. Cannot say that we have ever entered a public establishment and seen anything quite like this place - it is to say the least - a weird shop.
Best of Citysearch??? Seriously?!?!?!. To say that, "The owner and women were a little curt" as was expressed by a previous reviewer of this business is quiet a compliment. These folks are rude, unprofessional and downright nasty! When my wife expressed concerns regarding the quality of the work performed by the owner, he immediately responded by saying, "You just don't want to pay for it! I'm done talking to you!" He further went on to say, "Just pay and leave...or just leave." If this establishment won the "Best of Citysearch" award, this award has no credibility or merit. Go to this place at your own risk...
Great work, but some annoyances.
The shoes that Shoe Savers worked on look great and were handled well. I brought in a pair of Chanel and a pair of Louboutins, and they both turned out great. I definitely think that the craftsmanship is there.
The owner and woman were a little curt, but nothing so bad as to turn me completely off. I did find it annoying, however, that they only take cash or local checks (with two local phone numbers). The cost was also a little high, but I expected that to be the case.
Need a class in customer relations.
I took a pair of Ferregamo sandals purchased in Milan around 12 years ago. I love these sandels and hoped Shoe Savers would help refurbish them. They (both the owners) were rude and insulting.
They may be very good at what they do but they need to learn how to be polite and courteous.
I WOULD NOT recommend using them.
If my doctor treated me this way I'd FIRE him!
The best shoe repair shop ever. This is the ONLY place i will take my shoes for any and all repairs . Extraordinary knowledge and workmanship. Every pair of shoes I have taken in (about 100 pairs) has been expertly repaired and carefully handled. Some shoes could simply not be repaired but I was always told that up front and given other suggestions. Yes there may be other places that are less expensive, but those are the places that damaged, ruined or altered my beautiful shoes in the past (and Shoe Savers took the ruined shoes and revived them). Getting to know the owners has been a wonderful experience. And they will repair handbags too!!
Worst Shoe Repair Shop.
ARROGANT AND VERY RUDE
I have had two terrible experiences with the owner of this shop. First time, he threw my shoes down on the counter and told me they were ruined and he couldn't fix them. I recently tried again with different shoes...different problem. With his condescending attitude he told me not to bother because the shoes were in terrible condition...(they are very good Italian leather shoes and were salvaged by another shop) I tried to ask him another question after he dismissed me, but he actually turned away and ignored me. I have never been treated so badly by a merchant. He desperately needs an attitude adjustment...or close up shop..
Professional shoe repair by a craftsman. I brought an older pair of Allen Edmonds in for resoling. The shoes were finished on time and the work was impeccable. The owner is a perfectionist and it shows in his work. Both the owner and his wife were very helpful in discussing what the repair entails, the price and the repair time. I would trust my most expensive shoes to Shoe Savers and I would definitely recommend their work to anyone with quality shoes that need some repair.
Horrible Customer Service.
I was driving by and decided to stop in to see if they could fix 2 pairs of boots for me. Upon asking my question they immediately said they could not help me - I might as well get another pair of boots. They never told me the cost or anything - I asked well what would the cost be and the older man said $200.00 and no where else in Houston could do it cheaper.
Their service is horrible and they are extremely rude. I was willing to get them done but not from these people! They were horrible!
