A tiny store that nevertheless carries more mysteries and thrillers than any other in town.. In Short
Hardbound or paperback, new or used, Murder by the Book has all the mysteries and thrillers you could want. Featured are all titles current and famous, but space is reserved for up-and-comers, too, as well as out-of-print whodunits and some rare first editions. It also offers some fun ways for lone Houston mystery buffs to thicken the plot with murder-by-the-month discussion groups.

Best of independent bookstores in Houston!. Murder By The Book stocks an impressive number of titles in both new and used mysteries.

Staff is helpful, well imformed and willing special order. Great place to browse. There is something to please every mystery fan. I've never left this store empty handed.

Service with a Smile-like in the good old days!. Murder By The Book is without a doubt the Best of the Best Books Stores. Everyone is knowledgeable and they're the ones that put Friend in Friendly! Fantastic!

Best Bookstore Anywhere!. This is my favorite bookstore anywhere! They carry mysteries, mysteries, and more mysteries. Don't come here for the latest best seller, unless it's a mystery. Want books you'll never see in the chain stores? They've got 'em here. Want an out-of-print book? Check in the used book section. Want a lesser-know author's first book? Ask, they probably have it. The employees are all serious mystery readers, and they can guide you to new authors. And maybe you'll even get to meet your favorite authors at book signings. I've been coming to Murder By The Book for over 20 years. I've met Dick Francis, Kinky Friedman, and Janet Evanovich, among others.
