Editorial Review for Bronx Bar – by Citysearch Staff
In Short
Bronx Bar provides the basics, and Houston's late-night singles fill in the rest of the equation. Despite outward appearances, this small, no-frills Rice Village bar offers a great atmosphere that isn't the least bit trendy. Instead, the venue focuses on minimalist decor without pretension, quick bar service, rock, pop and hip-hop music and a killer location in the corner of a strip of venues that line Morningside.

I went there on a Friday night with a couple of guys (one chic, 2 dudes.) Rich, succesfull, young guys with a hot latina.. Anyways, the door guy over looks us and lets all these other folks in. Then makes a crowd of us wait.. Then this little tramp comes up to him from inside and makes out with the door guy and hangs all over him. Which I thought was gross because he has black gums and pimples and yellow teeth.. ( i Know how she gets in .) Then she comments and tells him "Let him in, her in, him in," pointing at ppl from the crowd. Gives me a hater look then kisses him again and leaves.. I thought it was funny at first cause i knew that made his night, week, month, year... Still waiting as he continued letting dudes in, when he had told us at 1st, that there was too many guys in already.. I said "F" this lets go next door Im not fu*king waiting anymore." He heard and acknowledged and asked how many were in our party as if he didn't know.. We stayed and spent a whooole lot of money between the 3 of us and buying ppl shots (cause we're friendly like that) I swear that the ONLY reason i stayed was because of the music.. I will NEVER go again. I never wait in lines. I look too good for that.. And i DO NOT have to make out with Pizza face bubba gums to do so.. SO i agree... It Is RACIS T !!! BTW I saw all those scrubs that were let in instead of us and never once saw them go to the the bar purchase alcohol.. CHEAP BROKE ASSESS!!!
Pros: Good DJ
Cons: Too packed, ugly, cheap crowd and cheap lookin..

This is the most relaxed night club I've ever been to. None of the games that the mid-town clubs play (you know, the bouncer with the big ego trying to create a line at the door, no cover charge like crummy suburban clubs, and a good overall crowd. Don't get me wrong, there is absolutely nothing original, cutting edge, or gimmicky about this place. The drinks are club prices, you see white guys dancing who should not be, the dance floor is tiny, and the music is generic songs that you'd hear a wedding DJ play (you know the obligatory cypress hill and vanilla ice type of rap) but then the girls are pretty, the bartenders are pretty, and you'll have fun. what else do you need? :)
