Best place to watch sports and enjoyed micro brewed beer! – Best place to watch sports in Houston! Any night of the week is a good night to go to TwoRows, I mainly like to go on Wednesday for the $1.00 handcrafted beer special. The food is tasty as well not your typical sports bar food, the staff is always warm and friendly. I highly recommend this restaurant to all of my friends, what I like it about it the most it's kind of off beaten path away from the crowd of people who don't appreciate a sports bar.
Worst service ever!! – I will give this place an ok for food but their service is beyond horrible.
1) We tried to make a reservation only to find out when we got there that they don't! The manager (Mike) said they don't take reservations on a rocket game day. If that was the case, why did the person on the phone take it!?!?!? (He also mentioned that only managers take reservations so he should know that)
2) They sat us down with no silverware (about 10 ppl in the group) thinking they will bring it out before the food or at least with the food. Nope! After all our food was out, we had asked 3 people that worked there to get it but NOTHING! We waited for almost 15 minutes until we got PART of our silverware but by then our food is COLD.
3) Talked to the manager only to give his usual blah blahs and did NOTHING and didn't even apologize for anything. The whole time we were there, no one said sorry for anything!
4) Lastly, we were asked if we wanted one check or split checks not only on the phone while we were "making reservations" but also while we were there. We had told them we wanted split checks twice. When we got our checks, the waiter just gave us 2 checks that lumped everybody's food and said he didn't know who had what so we had to figure it out ourselves. WTF!
5) We'd ask for a to go box to take the food since it wasn't worth eating there anymore and got a to go box that couldn't even close or even hold gravy (only dry food).
All in all, they need to get their act together. I'll never head there ever again. You can if you want to waste your money!
Worst I've been to in Houston! – We decided to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday here so that we could barhop afterwards, plus neither of us had eaten there. HUGE MISTAKE!
I made a reservation at 2:30pm that day with Mgr Mike. He clearly repeated it: 7:30pm, 10 people, non-smoking. Upon arrival, the hostess told us that they did not take reservations because there was a Rockets game on. We asked to speak to Mgr. Mike, who completely denied speaking to me!
We waited for a table for 30 min and got seated at an 8-person booth. There were 12 of us!
The sodas were completely devoid of carbonation, yet the waiter continued to give us this syrup-water.
Drinks (waters, teas, etc) were never refilled.
The bathrooms were disgusting and there were no paper towels in the women's restroom, even after several complaints.
When the food arrived (all at different times), no one had any utensils whatsoever. The waiter was completely unapologetic. When asked for just forks (we didn't even care if they were rolled in napkins), they said they couldn't locate the forks in the restaurant. Ridiculous!! We sat there staring at our food for over 20 minutes!! We finally received forks, sporadically, perhaps 2 or 4 at a time.
They got several orders wrong; bringing out incorrect entrees and mixed up the side dishes.
The food was sub-par. Everything was cold and tasted as if it came from the freezer section of the grocery store.
We fetched our own condiments, napkins, forks, straws, etc.
The waiter asked if we would like one bill or split checks, and we requested split checks. He came back saying that he could not remember who ate what, so he just gave us one bill. Why ask in the first place?
When speaking to Mgr. Mike about our dining experience, all he had to say was an apathetic, "Uh huh, thanks for your suggestions."
Overall, this is the worst casual dining restaurant I have ever been to. I feel horrible for bringing my boyfriend and friends here for his bday. Will never come back!!!!!
beer lover's heaven – I only go to this place a few times out of the year but every time I go, but I have a wonderful time. Wed nights has been $1 pint night for as long as I can remember and is my favorite night to go but they do tend to be a little busy and you have to wait for a seat and the servers have the bad habit of forgetting about you. The crowd is mostly the college aged, but you'll still have a good time if you go even if you're out of college.
oh, i'm not a big fan of their wings...it's entirely too salty and sour.
Still a favorite....after all this time – I've been going to Two Rows for many years now. It isn't necessarily a "regular" hang-out of sorts, but it seems to always fall in the line of a good place to go for various reasons. I like the food, I like the beer and cocktails, and I like the atmosphere. It is relaxed, close to me, and fun. The prices are good and it is close to other bars or things to do!
Eat Elsewhere but drink here, and expect slow service. – We showed up for dinner around 7:30 and it was not very busy yet, while it did get busier as the evening progressed, the atmosphere was good for a small group to have dinner and converse with one another. Now, let me start by saying the beer was pretty darn good. While they were out of the first 3 selections I asked about, the other two I tried were easy to consume microbrews. The food on the other hand is horrible. We started with a low quality seafood fondue which had the consistency of and taste of mushroom soup. Don't just stay away from this, run when you are able to smell it two tables away. We also had a sampler appetizer plate which I think was freezer burned wings and such, microwaved from your local freezer section. I had a burger as my meal selection. My burger was overcooked, incredibly dry and completely flavorless. This should not have been the case since ordered it rare. It was obvious that my burger was placed under the heat lamps while the rest of my partys food cooked, as the plate was scolding hot when it was delivered to the table and no one elses was. I would have sent it back, but it was so infrequent that we saw our server that my group would have finished their food before I was able too send it back. And while we are on the subject of the service, 3 requests for appetizer plates to 2 different people went unfulfilled, as did our request for catsup and refills on water. The only quick response we received from our waiter was after he dropped the credit card slip off, he was back 10 seconds later for his pen because it was the only one he had. The chocolate fantasy dessert I was told was very good with a surprise coconut taste that made it very enjoyable. I shared the key lime pie which was average and a relatively small portion compared to the price they charge. Overall if you are looking for a nice atmosphere and good microbrew beer, you found the place, but eat before you come here.
Good food and beer – This place has the food quality/price of a Chilis or Friday's with the added bonus of micro-brewed beer. As with any place, they do certain dishes very well and others are average. The dining area atmosphere/service is good and the bar area is good for sports events and meeting friends. It gets crowded in there, so be a little early for a particular TV event. It's a great location since there are so many other hotspots within walking distance.
Located on the second floor of a Village shopping center, this brewpub emphasizes beer and sports. – In Short
There are 20 televisions and two video walls, plus a wide range of handcrafted beers at this Rice Village hangout. Enjoy everything inside or outside on the pleasant balcony. The focus on the food comes as a pleasant surprise for those expecting average bar fare. Sample from the varied menu of Tex-Mex, pasta, chicken, soups and salads, and brick oven pizzas. Burgers, steaks and grilled seafood round out the entree options.
great food and beer – this place is awesome. first time here just relocated from denver to houston. the ribs were very good and the route 66 amber ale was probably the best beer ive had since ive been in texas. this is definately worth a try. the night i was there it was packed with rockets fans so get there early.
Two Rows Blows – I have been to Two Rows several times since moving back to Houston 2 years ago. I have tried many items on the menu and they have all sucked. For example, I went for lunch once and they gave me microwaved, dry hamburger. Another time, I got Buffalo chicken strips and they tasted "fishy". Please spare yourself disappointment, and don't order anything there that is "tex-mex". They try to pass themselves off as a restaurant/bar, but they have bar quality food. I normally love microbrewed beer (being a home brewer myself), but the beer here is nothing to write home about. It's cheap on Wednesday nights, though! This place has so much potential, but they don't try because of their location. They know they are going to get the business, so why improve.
