My boyfriend and I are pretty into Thai food. With that said, we've just recently moved to Houston and are (still) looking for a great Thai place to eat. We live near an extremely mediocre one, and another one we haven't tried yet, but whatever. This one happened by accident.
The week before we ate at Thai Village, we had eaten at the ABSOLUTELY PHENOMINAL Indian joint next door called Shiva. We remarked during that evening that we should definitely go back and try 'that Thai place' next time, because we assumed that if it were next door to such an awesome foreign cuisine, it might be at least sort of in keeping with the theme.
WRONG.
I was ridiculously starving when I got there, and was totally psyched for a plate of pineapple curry, which they have, but it only came with potatoes, which doesn't make any sense. Everywhere else I've ever eaten it had pineapple, bell pepper, onion, carrots, etc. So I chose to order something else. I don't even remember what I got, but it was pretty gross. It basically tasted like someone mixed motor oil and molasses together and boiled some shrimp and pineapples in it, and then threw in some extremely soggy, sorry-ass vegetables. The noodle dish my boyfriend got was pretty bad too. Neither of us even remotely finished our plates, and when we asked for the check, it took like 15 minutes for them to bring it to us. Needless to say, we won't be going back.
- Pros: Right next door to an unbelievably amazing Indian restaurant. (Go there instead.)
- Cons: I feel like I could have had better Thai food in jail.

We ate dinner at Thai Village. Service was very quick and friendly. We had the panang curry and spicy basil noodles. The curry had very good flavor. Not spicy. The basil noodles were very good. Depending on if you like spicy food or not. We do and thought the noodles had some spice to them but not over powering. Great flavor. Plan to eat there again
- Pros: very good food
- Cons: small place and possible parking issues

This place is in the middle of the busy Rice Village area and it is so easy to over look it. It is just tucked off the main street. The patio is so nice to veiw the people shopping in the village. The spring rolls are very good. The Yellow curry is my favorite.
- Cons: Parking
