What Our Expert Scouts Say

Nice ambience, but the Thai food is just ok. Nit Noi is well located and one of the more upscale Thai restaurants in central Houston. My in-laws took me there for a family outing and while the decor and ambience, as well the nice Thai greeting from the hostess (sawadeekah), evoked upscale Thai dining, the dishes really failed to impress. Everything we ordered came out rather bland or very spicy. The cornerstones of true Thai dining are the flavors - lemongrass, lime, chili, tamarind - sweet, spicy, fragrant, powerful. Nit Noi dumbs it down for what I call "americanized Thai", Thai food that has just enough not to be too smelly or flavorful, but will fit your run of the mill palate. If you like the real stuff like I do, Nit Noi will not be the choice for you, but if you want serviceable Thai cuisine in a nice atmosphere in the middle of town, Nit Noi fits the bill.

Excellent restaurant. This is a delightful restaurant. We had a delicious meal with terrific service. The food is exceedingly fresh and cooked to perfection. The portions are generous and the price cannot be beat. It has a beautiful interior and is very clean. My family has eaten there for years and we have never been disappointed. The wait staff has always been very attentive. We eat there every chance we get because we always enjoy ourselves whenever we go there.

Best Thai Food I have found in Houston. I ordered lunch to go at the Westheimer location. While I was waiting, I got to the the beautifully painted walls and wonderful atmostphere inside. The waitstaff seemed pleasent enough, and my food came out in about 15 mins-not terrible. I had the Phad Thai, and it was delicious. Light and flavorful, not spicy at all. Garnished with a little extra peanut sauce and it was fantastic. I'm having to sit on my hands to not go eat there again tonight!

Moms Day Out....(disaster). Moms Bonding time ...turned disaster...

We've been standing and waiting for about 3minutes..nobody wanted to greet us .... we called their attention twice...thats the time the crew turned her head... she told us to wait for 2 minutes... but when they noticed that we have a 2yrs old and a baby.... the other lady told us to wait for about 15minutes.... we pointed a vacant spot near the window... and they still insisted that we'll wait for 10 minutes... THE TABLE IS VACANT.... IT CAN ACCOMMODATE US .... but they refuse to give the spot to us.... What kind of service is that.... If you planto go there with your kids... don't bother or attempt ....THEY DONT LIKE KIDS.

Best Thai Restaurant in Houston. I love the crispy spring rolls and Angel Lady.

My Husband loves Tiger Cry

and my brother loves the beef pad thai

I tend to always order the same things when I eat out but with the variety of choices here I

have been willing to try new things (as long as it's not too spicy).

So I am writing yet another review to promote a family owned business that provides great food

in a great atmosphere.

Nope, never again . . . "non ethnic" Thai food. The ambience was nice, if not a bit kitschy. We walked in expecting a good experience, but no one greeted us, so after a few minutes we sat ourselves. After 10 minutes of sitting, someone finally took our order. The spring rolls were filled with nothing but cabbage, which was dissapointing. We ordered the ginger fried rice w/chicken and the coconut curry. The food was hot, but that's about the only positive thing I can say about it. Presentation was great, but I have never tasted (or not tasted) food so bland. This restaurant definitely does not cater to people who like good service or food with authentic flavoring.

Family-owned chain serving reliable Thai fare.. In Short
Pleasant decor and a relaxed atmosphere form the perfect backdrop for Nit Noi's spicy Thai dishes. Known for its pad thai, crispy spring rolls and noodle dishes, the menu also features house specialties such as pork Thai dumpling with ginger sauce. Order "off the menu" for a special treat of "shuu-shee sea shell by the seashore" (shrimp and red snapper cooked in red curry and herbs). Chicken and rice dishes round out the diverse menu offerings.

Good food, great price. I've dined for lunch and for dinner. Lunch they have an excellent bargain - for the price it's a tasty meal that fills you up. I love the spring rolls (rice paper rolls that are not fried) appetizer! I've had the generously proportioned beef salad that was full of zesty flavor. They serve an excellent Thai ice tea. Every time I visit Houston, I try to have one meal here.

Terrible Service. I mean, what service? Nit Noi has really good food, and we were SO looking forward to having a good dinner. We were there for an hour and only once did the waitress check on us, and then disappeared after that. It was supposed to be a special night for my family but was ruined by awful service. We eventually got up and left.

My mouth waters whenever I think of this place. Always good, never disappointing. Be sure to order the Toam-Yum-Goong soup; its my favorite, and I always order it without fail (feeds 4+ people). Other faves are their curry dishes and the beef satay with the peanut sauce. YUMMMMM. I had never been a fan of Thai food until I dined at Nit Noi. Now I am hooked.
