“The store was so great and unique we spent a long time looking at all of the amazing products they had.”
I agree with "turned away".... As my mother always said: " I wish I could buy you for what you are worth and sell you for what you think you are worth". I too sometimes run those marathon errand trips looking pretty sad and especially by the end of the day in Houston heat. I consider those real working days and I save my dressing up for lovely lunch and light browsing, or something I've made an appointment for, etc. I've had this treatment before and consider it "elitist profiling". I think that would be the p/c term I'm looking for? Anyway, except for being irritating, laugh it off. You are the one shopping and they are the ones standing in a shop all day on their feet. (if we reverse the judgement thing) Their loss! Word of mouth is a powerful thing. While I'm at it: one last random thought: "The customer isn't necessarily "always right" but they deserve to be treated respectfully!"
Love this store!!. This store has great gift items as well as fabulous home decor designs and ideas!! I could spend hours in the baby and toy sections. They have two floors and it always takes me forever to look at everything! They have so much great stuff!!
Unique, fun shopping experience.
I stumbled into Blue Leaf for the first time after eating lunch at Istanbul Grill with my wife. I had never heard of this place but glad we discovered it. The store was so great and unique we spent a long time looking at all of the amazing products they had.
They had such great products that we had to come back when we were considering redecorating our house. We had an excellent experience! Everyone there took great attention to us - even the owners spent a good amount of time with us. They have such great, unique furniture and a unique design sense that the experience was unforgettable and we get so many compliments about our home.
Great Furniture and Gifts!. Lots of friendly faces! Great place to shop at! I love all your stuff! I went in today and It was such a great expirience that I just have to leave you a Thank you note! I highly recommend this store!
It's fun to shop in Blue Leaf!. Blue Leaf is a shopping experience you should not miss out on. The staff is friendly, helpful and amazing! The prices are below suggested retail and the store experience is just plain fun! I would recommend everyone go in and see for yourself. There are lots of great gifts, free gift wrapping, furniture, art, toys and really, I just love going in there!
Low end retail employees at high end retail prices. I have decided that the 5 star reviews were either written by people who have not shopped at Blue Leaf since they moved or were written by the stores employees. I have been in the store about 5 times in the last couple of months and each time I go, it gets worse. Every time I begin working with an employee on a project for my home, they quit. or get fired. The staff has changed so drastically in the past few months that I've decided not to shop there anymore. The remaining staff knows nothing about the furniture they sell. It's frustrating to have a store I used to enjoy change ownership/management and turn in to what it has. I do not recommend this store to anyone serious about buying furniture or doing any decorating where you would need to ask questions of the staff.
Blue Leaf Fun but overpriced.. Blue Leaf is fun to go to but really is the most overpriced, frivalous store I've ever walked into. I once picked up a Santa made of decorated styrofoam that looked like it came from Hobby Lobby and was shocked to see that it was $20!!! People who have real money don't spend it on things just because they cost a lot, they have money because they spend it wisely. You want value, don't shop at Blue Leaf. If you want to say you bought something there because of some weird social status your seeking...it's your store and you deserve each other.
HAPPY I FOUND U!!!!. I was sooo worried I drove by Bissonet about 2 months ago (Blue Leaf's old location) and did not see them. I stopped and asked the people there but they did not seem to know where Blue Leaf went. OMG but low and behold I finally found them....just a few blocks away...actually closer to me. Now I don't have to go very far to get all the wonderful things I get at my favorite store. They are now at the heart of Rice Village. I had moved out of town for the past 2 years and recently returned. I bring my husband and he loves to get involved with fixing the house. I don't normaly have the time but I read the previous reviews, and agree that the girls there are wonderfullllllllll!!! They are young and energetic and help us get what we want. I am glad I dont care if someone looks me head to toe because I feel good about myself and dont pay attention to those things. I simply love the ambiance at Blue Leaf and love that my house can be looked at head to toe and I always say we look good thanks to BLUE LEAF......PS their baby gifts are a-ma-zing!! (my friends in Florida call to order the tutu's all the time for their little ones).
Always Impressed!. I don't know about the review below mine. Blue Leaf is not only a beautiful store, but the girls that I always see are so wonderful and always smiling, eager to help me. I can go in there to buy a candle and walk out with 10 different things I never thought I needed (but I do. LOL). I would give this store 10 stars if I could. My whole house is furnished by Blue Leaf. They came to my house (the owner herself-nice lady), looked at it, and the next day a whole truck was filled with the perfect furnishings. They decorated and everything....for free! (I had to buy the new stuff though) I think Blue Leaf is the best store in the Village. Probably in Houston. Keep it up!!
Turned away. I was shopping in Rice Village for a gift for my mother. It was Saturday so I was dressed casually and when I walked into Blue Leaf, the saleswoman stopped and slowly looked me up and down without even a greeting. She just stared. I said I was there to find my mother a gift and still the saleswoman just stood and stared with her arms crossed. It was not unlike that scene in Pretty Woman where Julia Roberts can't get help on Rodeo Drive. I left and the saleswoman took a few steps toward the door, as if to herd me out of her shop. It's unfortunate that Blue Leaf felt I wasn't dressed up enough to spend my money there.
