In Short – These casual and cheery cafes satisfy any carb craving with hundreds of possible combinations. Twenty types of bagel--from sun-dried tomato to asiago to potato--are made to order with an array of deli meats, condiments and specialty "schmears," which come in more low-fat flavors than regular varieties. Signature panini, salads and the popular "bagel dog" tide over afternoon crowds, as do handy to-go lunchboxes for individuals and parties.
Other locations are good---ants in my coffee drink at Kirby location!

I've eaten at the Montrose location and UH locations for years. Those locations, I would definately suggest (although Montrose doesn't have the equipment to make proper hot coffee drinks, there is a Starbucks next door.) However, I will never set foot in the Kirby location again.
Long story short: After eating my food, I popped the top off of my caramel machiatto to let it cool, only to find several dead ants floating in it. (I had, by then, taken a few sips--possibly downing a few ants, as well?)
I went to the counter to demand a refund and a manager was called. Who shows up, but the sullen cashier who made my drink to begin with! She chastized another employee for not keeping the lid on one of the ingredients that had been used, even though she was the one who made the drink (and would have noticed that the item had been left uncovered and was crawling with ants!)
I got no apology from sullen cashier manager lady. She counted out my money and handed it to me without saying a word.
I've reported these guys to the health dept and won't be going there again. I hope others will beware, as well!
- Pros: At least it wasn't anything poisonous in my coffee...
- Cons: ...but dead ants are still pretty gross.
Filthy Dirty AND Horrible Serivce!

I live in the Village area and love to stay "local" when spending money in this economy.... But I have to say.... I have given this restaurant ONE TOO MANY chances!
It seems like on a consistent basis the employees are playing around with each other behind the counter - hey paying customer here! Pay attention to your customers!!! The paying customers are the reason you have jobs and the restaurant is open!
Tables for dining are always dirty with the past customers items OR cleared but not wiped down.
There is always something missing at the coffee bar - cream is empty, counter is filthy and wet, straws are filthy, napkins are out, lids are in disarray.... OR if it is not missing you have to fight for space with an employee who is trying to re-stock something, but again the customer is important? Or my impression..... NOT REALLY for the people who work at this location as a customer you might as well be invisible!
Parking is horrible too! People if you get an SUV learn to drive AND park it! There is not enough parking here, so be considerate one car = one spot for you, not two! Don't even think about taking parking at the audio storefront - they will leave you nasty notes on your car. Never ever going to shop over there! Thanks guys! Obviously the service there follows suit too because your parking lot has NO cars! Ha!
Now let's talk about the dirty..... Hair in my egg bagel sandwich! Yes HAIR - dark black, long hair hair! Yes, I have to say this is the last straw!
I am AMAZED they are still in business!
Houston has a ton of restaurants to chose from and give your hard earned money too, and definitely places that will do a better job than this place - I will never visit this Einstein location again!
- Pros: location
- Cons: Dirty, Poor Service, Poor Parking
Einstien Bagels in Clear Lake

The service makes this place a definite "Don't Bother". I ordered (the day before) a bagel box for a meeting and was very specific about what I wanted. When I showed up the next morning to pick up my order, there was a lady behind the counter working on what I thought was an order for the man in front of me. While I wait, another lady walks in and gets behind me. Finally, the lady behind the counter turns around and says, "Have you ladies ordered yet?" I told her I was there to pick up my Bagel Box for a meeting. She proceeded to tell the lady behind me to come over to her register to order. The gentleman in front of me looked around quite confused and then just walked out. He was obviously being ignored and I don't have any idea how long he was there before I walked in. As I watch the woman who was behind me order and then another lady walk past me and get in line behind her, I searched for another cashier to help me, but they were all in the back. Finally, I walk up behind the other lady and politely ask the clerk if my bagel box was ready (thinking she was unaware that I had already ordered it the day before). She points and snidely replies, "Yeah, it's right over there." I tell her that it was for a 7:15 pickup (it was already 7:30 because I was delayed by a wreck). She smiles very condescendingly and tells me, "I'll be right with you." Another lady walks out of the back and asks her if she needs help and she just asks if my order is ready to go. It was. Finally she rings up the order and points to the end of the counter and says, "There it is." What is this? Get it Yourself Bagel Shop? So I make my way down there and grab the large box, jug of OJ and bag of cream cheeses and fumble my way to the car. Here's the icing on top of the cake: When I made it to my meeting, I open the box and it WASN'T WHAT I ORDERED!!! The lady never even asked me my name. Wonder if I ended up with someone else?s order.
