“The food is high quality and not expensive--cheese enchiladas to die for, suprisingly wonderful fried chicken (that takes a little longer to prepare), and teriffic atmosphere.”
“It is not a sterile, chain, corporate cookie-cutter Mexican food outlet, but rather an authentic family owned and run, family-oriented, warm place to spend part of an evening.”
“stand by my earlier comment on the drinking without food pilicy, it truly makes for an enjoyable meal without all the noise of a bar crowd.”
“Terrible food, rude staff and shabby interior.”
“that only one in our group of 3 was going to eat and asking if it was still okay to take a table (even though it was slow) and he said yes, we were berated for only ordering an appetizer (which was more expensive than about half the entrees on the menu, a”
“we were trying to find a nice place to sit and chat for about 30 min or so.”
“Mexican food is our favorite food and we will definitely be back to Spanish Village sometime very soon!”
“Also, contrary to what you would expect, the service is rather mediocre.”

“Food was excelent, frozen margarita's were amazing (not from a machine), and the service was quick and friendly.”
A definite 5! The server took great care to ensure that my lunch was prepared the way that I like it to be prepared. *bubbling enchiladas!
I always love this place. It's not perfect but nothing is! I can't say anything bad about it. I have been coming here for over 30 years & I will keep coming Best margaritas in town.
Angelica is fabulous. Margaritas are the best in town - we've been coming for 20+ years. Only improvements would be the bathrooms.
Arturo is the best waiter ever. He's very courteous, polite, and generous. He makes sure you are taken care of while you are dining.
I've been comeing here since I was a little girl and I always enjoy the cheese enchiladas. The candy with the strawberry is always a nice treat. Keep up the wonderful service and atmosphere.
Allison of Chro.com says this place is one of the top 100 restaurants in Houston. I can totally agree! It serves the standard Tex-Mex that they started in H-town from the 1970's through now....Salsa is a bit hot & the hood it's in is a bit dark. But the service & food make you forget that..............
Great Tex-Mex- for real..
People either love or hate this place. Most of us that love it have been coming here for a while and understand and appreciate real tex-mex and real people.
The place has great owners, wait staff, food and margharitas. The customers are diverse and freindly.
The chicken enchilladas with ranchero sauce (you have to ask for ranchero) are fantastic.
It takes years to get bored with the menu (even reading it is fun).
Best Mexican Food & Margs. I sure am glad I didn't listen to some of the previous reviews because my sister and I ate at Spanish Village today and both LOVED it! Great food, great margaritas, cozy atmosphere. The waitress and manager were super and even chased us down in the parking lot to give my sister her cell phone back that she had left on the table. Mexican food is our favorite food and we will definitely be back to Spanish Village sometime very soon!
