In Short – Whether it's the safe and convenient walk home from their favorite watering hole or the nearby pedestrian access to dining and shopping, residents enjoy a location and atmosphere virtually unparalleled in Houston. Community amenities include many socially-minded extras like outdoor fireplaces and a fitness center large enough to induce new friendships. Interior touches like hardwood floors, berber carpet and garden-style bathtubs provide for an equally as enjoyable experience at home. –
Do not move here!
by amm1214 at Citysearch
I have lived in Post for the past year and regret haven giving them a dime. The management is very sleezy and unprofessional and the apartments are outrageously overpriced for the size and quality. I have had nothing but bad experiences with the offices staff the few times I ever needed anything. Whenever I have had maintenance issues, I have had a hard time getting someone to come by. There are frequent apartment and car break-ins in the area as well. My friends live in other apartments in the area that are much nicer for what they pay. I don't normally ever write these reviews but I have been so upset with my experience at Post, that I was motivated to write one. Do not move there!
- Pros: none
- Cons: staff, price, quality of living
Overrated and Disappointing
by razorwyre at Citysearch
I have lived at the Post Midtown Square for over a year and I am disappointed with the place. I expected a lot more for a $1100 a month studio apartment! The unit itself has a lot of things that bother me. When they slapped a new coat of paint on the walls it splattered fine drips all over the kitchen counter that I am unable to take off. The garbage disposal burned out within a month and had to be replaced. The overall feel of the cabinetry is cheap, as is the el-cheap vinyl tile floor. The AC for the unit drains into the bathtub which leaves horrible rust colored stains that have to be removed every week, embarrassing if you have company. The walls in the bathroom were poorly repaired when numerous towel racks have been ripped off leaving intents and wavy marks. When I first got into the unit ever the leasing rep was surprised at how filthy the carpets were. He promised to "have them steam cleaned twice". Well even after that when I moved in they were still stained and discolored, again embarrassing. When I complained I was told that "they were not bad enough to warrant replacement" and "would probably be replaced after my lease." Wow, thanks for taking care of me!
The overall layout of the structure is horrible. The parking is in a completely different building that is across the street that you have to walk up many flights of stairs to get to your car. The garage itself is extremely narrow and at each corner you risk damage to your vehicle as you have to squeeze by other tenants going the other way .Parking on the street is difficult to find. The elevator in my building is broken AT LEAST once a week for more than a day. It usually takes a day or two to fix it, and if it breaks on a Friday well I guess you have to wait till Monday for that! A minor annoyance for me living on 4th floor, I feel sorry when I see people moving and I know the elevator is broken. Welcome to the crappy Post!
I kick myself every day for not living in another complex in Midtown.
- Pros: Location is great, some unique floorplans
- Cons: Expensive, Horrible Parking, Poorly Constructed Units, Broken Elevators
THE part of town to be in
by angel814 at Citysearch
If you are under 25 and single this is THE place to be. It's expensive and each of the apartment complexes in the area have their pros and cons, but this is the best part of Houston to live in for young apartment dwellers. It's within walking distance of the best bars and several restaurants and all of the apartment complexes have great weekend pool scenes.
- Pros: LOCATION
- Cons: not as nice as some of the surrounding apartment complexes
