Awesome food- Great prices. Was trying to catch a quick bite before a show...never expected to sit down behind such great food. My wife had the philly chsteak and I enjoyed the house burger-both awesome. We got out of there w/dinner and drinks for right at $30. Will be back in to try out the rest of the menu.

All the other reviews are spot on.... Finally ate there today for the first time. My girlfriend and I split a burger since we also wanted to drink a couple of beers amd not get too full. The burger was great, and even better is that they actually split it onto two plates, both with it's own condiments/fries, which I thought was super cool of them! We sat in the neat little courtyard out back, which is an amazing piece of history in itself...with the OLD surrounding brick walls! The whole building is a Houston treasure, and the kitchen is right there by the front window, so you can watch them cook from the sidewalk. Everything was very clean, from the dining room, to the outside courtyard, to the bathrooms. Prices were great. I don't give it five stars only because "it's just a hamburger" (everyone claims to have the best burger in Houston, and there's lots of good ones...just like this great one...but I've yet to find one that is over the top by any stretch), and the service was good for a "bar"...but less than enthusiastic for a "grill" (we had to go ask for menus). Perfect mix of "burger and bar", in my opinion, and I'll be back for sure!

A new tradition on Wednesday afternoon. Friends recommended this place for its burgers and they are great. But on Wednesday its Enchilada Verde, made fresh they are something to look forward to in the middle of the week. All white meat chicken and a Verde sauce as yummy as yummy can be. Spanish rice and beans on the side its a plate full. Never mind the value its one of the best plates in town. So as they say in the Windy City "Eat Early and Eat Often".

juiciest burgers in downtown. nice atmosphere, reminds you that you're in historic Houston. Try any of the burgers. the horseradish mayonaisse is phenomenal.
