Hasn't changed a bit. I went to a SW in Dallas and thought the spaghetti was awful. That was about 15 years ago. I had time to kill downtown one afternoon and decided to try it just because it was nearby. The bread is the best thing here. No complaints there. The salad I ordered wasn't worth writing home about. This place just does not live up to its reputation. To all those reviews that thinks this place is great, your idiots. I can give you at least five other Italian restaurants that are much better and you will be spending the same amount.
WEE wrestler? O.O. Love the food, SW is one of my favorite places, but last time I was there (Friday) the place was busier than usual and the waitress was very loud and itimidating, bet her part time job is being a WE wrestler or something my Mom was scared she was gonna beat us up if we didn't finish our food fast enough, maybe it wasn't her day, but still, that's no excuse, the Hostesses are also very rude evertime we go there specially to my mom, my mom doens't speak fluent English but still they should try to make an effort and treat people with respect, because we are in America after all there's people from all over the place, We didn't enjoy our visit at all, hopefully it'll be better next time I would hate to stop going to this place, it's the best foodwise.
Not the spaghetti Warehouse I remember from the past.
This is the worst restaurant I've been to in a long while.
I didn't like the waiter as he seemed like he cared but his actions demonstrated that he didn't.
Most importantly, the vegetable lasagna was flavorless. It looked like the ingredients were put together at the last moment and the sauce was water-like. I don't think the cooks in there are any good and actually don't know how they made it taste so bad. I didn't try the spaghetti, but they will never get a chance for me to come back because I'm done with them. It is not inexpensive as some of the reviews claimed. Basically a rip-off. The bread is sourdough and wasn't fresh. The garlic butter is nasty and how they keep customers there is a mystery to me.
Best Italian Food in Houston !!. When I had an important date or event, I used to go to the San Francisco Steakhouse, but now that that once great venue is closed, Spaghetti Warehouse is my destination for important dates/events. In any case, my date and I arrived at 9 p.m. on Thursday September 24, 2009. The hostess was very attentive and polite. Our waiter was also attentive, but I've had better waiters. Our food was excellent and quickly served. My only complaint is a personal quirk, in which I prefer dish pictures on the menu. The menu, although adequate, is far from imaginative. The food and drink prices were actually quite moderate, considering that this is a quality destination, and it was dinner, my date and I ate for 35.00 Also, since this place has been featured on national TV, it would serve the waitstaff well to play up, not play down, that the venue is haunted.
Excellent Italian food w/free parking at night!. I read the reviews before we went downtown to see Jerry Seinfield at Jones Hall in June and wondered if it was going to be good. This is not an upscale atmosphere, but the food was delicious and the service was friendly and attentive. The only problem is as seldom as we go downtown, it's probably the only restaurant we will risk going to for the value and convenience.
Bad food, bad service, bad atmosphere.
I attended a group meeting here on a Thursday evening. The restaurant was quiet until a large group came in an hour behind us. That was ok, but the group walked back and forth near our table constantly.
The set menu was awful, nothing even remotely healthy on it. No substitutions were allowed. I finally convinced the waitress to let me order soup and salad from the main menu. It was a mistake. The menu said 'unlimited' but I wasn't offered more of anything. In fact the waitress only showed up twice during the whole meal- once to take orders and once to deliver them. She was not polite and interrupted the meeting blatantly. The soup and salad were awful. The salad consisted of some iceberg lettuce and croutons and the soup was possibly the worst minestrone soup I've ever tasted- it was mostly celery. I ate about three bites then decided to just eat bread the rest of the night. The bread tasted ok, but again there was nothing remotely healthy about it- white, yeasty bread with butter and no other option. The other members of my group were not very picky eaters, but even they didn't seem to love the food. Everything was covered in too much cheese and there is really nothing Italian about any of it.
Overall I would never go here again. The location is ok, but I would rather travel further and not feel like I wasted money buying food I won't even eat.
Very disappointing experience.
Pros: honestly, location is the only one I can think of
Cons: seating our party of 12 an hour past our reservation was just not right; giving no apology or periodic updates at the time was inexcusable; the noise level was so high our waitress had to scream to be heard (or she could have gone to each person individually which she apparently could not be bothered to do), the atmosphere was chaotic and a lack of good management was obvious. Food was nothing special. Their webite comment function is not working, so I sent a letter to the main office in Dallas and the phone call response was one of 'not our fault' - I disagree. Every single customer that enters your restaurant should be valued and we were not.
Spaghetti Warehouse.
My daughter and I ate at the Spaghetti Warehouse on 11-01-08
The service was Excellent, the Food was Delicious and the Price was Reasonable.
We hightly recommend the Taramasou for dessert.
We cant wait to go again.
No Way. I was so excited to eat at this restaurant. Had done so as a young women in the 70's, and had awesome memories of it. I moved away and returned to Texas after being gone for 27 years. I could hardly wait to eat at this restaurant. So I took my new husband . The food was horrible. The only thing we ate that was good was the bread. My husband and I will never go there again. I was so disappointed.
Great place to go in groups. I went with a group of friend 15 ppl total and the service was exellent they had our table ready when we got there inmediately they serve our appetizers and our beverages. The food was delicious and serve in a 123. From my experience I would definitely go back any time and recommend this place to my friends and family and whoever ask where to go for some great food + customer service.
