What Our Expert Scouts Are Saying

Brooklyn Athletic Club
While you're at the job working nine to five, we're at the bocce court cold kickin' it live. BAC has expanded upon the prime Richmond real estate just off Montrose that was formerly occupied by Zimm's Little Deck, and made an obvious departure from that eatery's New Orleans influence. BAC's upscale tavern menu features New York-style reubens with some nods to actual geography, like Texas striped bass. Although the hours are strange for such a breezy bar and restaurant (it's closed between 2 and 5 p.m.), it's one of the best patios in town — when it's open. Bocce not your thing? It's okay; there's croquet.

Get your bocce or croquet on at this bar, which is like an amusement park for adults. The outdoor patio is pretty fantastic, too.

Croquet, bocce ball, a fabulous patio and excellent food and drink menu make this the perfect happy hour spot or date night. The house made pork rillettes and Mac n cheese appetizers are a must. "Porkobucco" and the bass are perfection. Ask about the specials and beer list!

Go with your friends, grab a seat on the patio, and then order some of Jeff Axline's decadently delicious food. The Reuben drips with juiciness and bursts with flavor. The burger is large enough to share, and can only be classified as gourmet. There are cocktails, outdoor games like bocce ball and croquet, a S'more's fire pit, and a fantastic patio. Fun, food and games--what's not to like?

Tons of patio space with - wait for it - stuff to actually *do* while you're outside swilling a cocktail. There's bags, bocce, volleyball ... And the bread pudding ain't bad, either

Newly-opened Brooklyn Athletic Club's name and theme were inspired by the "neighborhood social/dining clubs" that the owner's grandparents used to visit in Brooklyn. Full-service "Clubhouse" restaurant and bar with croquet, bocce, horseshoes and a putting green.

The new American menu includes Pappardelle & Meatballs (cooked in an all-day sauce, giving the dish an almost bolognese feel), Sweet Potato Gnocchi (caramelized mushrooms/apples, sage/parsley cream and crispy leeks) and the Butter Lettuce Salad (avocado, grapefruit, red onion, spiced pepitas, queso fresco and poblano ranch) are favorites so far! BAC also boasts one of the best burgers in the city!
