Some locations are Okay, THIS ONE SUCKED..
Some locations are good. THIS ONE SUCKED.
1) I checked the drink specials online before going. Upon arrival the waitress informed me "those specials online ARE ANCIENT" "We don't have those". Then we ordered a bucket of light beer that WAS on special and asked if it was 5 or 6 beers. She said it was 6. Then when she came back with 5 said..."oh sorry its only 5" We could have bought draught beer for the same price.
2) They are expensive. I ordered two well shots. They were $4.90 each. They weren't even free poured , they were EXACTLY one shot, measured to the line on the glass. And why $4.90 instead of $5.00. Is this Wal-Mart?
3) I have been to TWO other Fox & Hounds. The one on 249, and the one in The Woodlands. They were both cleaner, had the beer specials mentioned on the website. And had a large expensive beer selection, but also a selection of craft beers that were on special for $3 every day.
Also, this place is a sports bar. Not British.
Go anywhere else. Houston is too big for this CRAP.
Fun, friendly, however not very English.. Decent, friendly, clean. Big TVs for sports and curtained-off rooms showing big fights etc for additional charge. Staff were genuinely friendly. Good choice of beers, including Newcastle Brown Ale and Guinness. Don't be fooled by 'English Pub' moniker; this is an American sports bar through and through, which is no bad thing at all!
Decent Place, Decent People.
Checked this place out last night with a friend. It was nice enough, just the layout was horrible. This place has nothing on the location off of the Gulf Freeway.
Hot waitress though!
Large sports and billiard bar offers full and varied menu amidst dark wood paneling interior and friendly staff..
In Short
Part sports bar, part English pub, this casual yet classy spot can easily accommodate a raucous group outing or a cozy first date. The generous menu features guilty pleasures like nachos, hot wings and potato skins, though entree selections abound from fish and chips, pot roast and grilled mahi-mahi. Patrons can enjoy the friendly staff and sports viewing at the bar or settle in for a fulfilling meal in the dining room's many booths.
