Pretty bad.. This is quite easily the worst of the Nit Nois. The Mee-Grob was not made properly. It was sopping wet in some red sauce and contained a few, foul-smelling shrimp. We ordered a spicy beef dish but had to send it back because it smelled like an industrial chemical. I ordered the #5 Hangover Cure and it looked like the hangover precursor: a pile of v0mit on two lettuce leaves. Overall I was disgusted and will not be going back.
Worst Thai food I've ever had. It's rare I have such a bad meal that I want people to know about it. I had take out from NitNoi for the first time this evening and it was the worst Thai food I've EVER had. There were red flags as soon as I walked in. Not a smile on anyone's face. They probabley knew they were about to serve me bad food. How can peanut sauce not taste like peanuts?
Worst Service Ever.
Bad Service. Very bad, if you are not a Caucasian the "b*" there do not treat you good, they act like you are eating free food! No one even came to check back. Very race oriented. Will not recommend anyone to go there, burn your money. The food is disgusting. Shame on them.
Instead try Thai Spice on Bellaire, where they are respectful and treat you like people and the food is excellent there.
Worst Lunch Experience EVER.
Where to start? We went early to avoid the lunch crowd. A nice waitress came by to take our order, but we weren't ready. A few min. later, another came by to take our order, but we told her we had already been helped. A third waitress then came by and took our order.
My wife ordered the lunch special (chicken & broccoli) and I ordered the garlic shrimp. 20-30 min. went by, and we had no food. People who had gotten there after we did were getting their food and we were still waiting. The second waitress came by to take our order, and we informed her that someone had already done so. Her response was that the person didn't understand English, and when she came by we told her we weren't ready so the kitchen didn't have our order. WHAT???
Instead of walking out (which we should have), we gave her our order AGAIN. Not even 2 min. after she walked away, our food came out (from our original order). The garlic shrimp was horrible. It was bland and overcooked. The broccoli chicken wasn't half bad, but the experience was so horrible already, that we did our best to rush through and get out. As another reviewer pointed out, maybe the other locations are better, but I won't find that out for myself.
Avoid this place like the plague! There are much better Thai restaurants in Houston, such as Thai Sticks or Paddy Thai (R.I.P). Hell, even Thai Spice buffet is better by leaps and bounds...
Best Pad Thai EVER!. First of all, the reviews about service are absolutely silly. The service is FINE- I think they are always very nice and the food always comes out fast and fresh. What do you people want, a song and dance before you are seated? A personal conversation about your life and family? It is non expensive delicious food and you should be lucky to live in Houston only for the fact that this is the only city with nit noi. I have been eating here for years and to date, it has the absolute best pad thai I have had anywhere, and I order it at almost every thai restaurant I visit. I always order chicken pad thai- try it if you have gone and never had it. Also, the crispy spring rolls are fabulous, along with the peanut sauce! My other favorite is the shrimp wonton soup- yes, they have tails so prepare yourself- but quite being lazy and just pull them off. To me this shows freshness and the soup is delicious. Try it. Nit Noi is one of my favorite restaurants ever. Go if you have the chance. But sorry if they don't kiss your hands and feet before you are seated.
THIS PLACE WAS A JOKE. I ordered putt thai with chicken and shrimp. the shrimp still had the tails on them!!! AND the whole dish smelled like fish. I have had pad thai at other places with chicken and shrimp. You obviously NEEED to take the tails off then cook it!! my pasta had pieces of shrimp tail in it!! i was picking it out of my mouth!!! No to mention that we stood at the door for 20 minutes waiting to be seated, just to be sat by the waitress who kept passing up back and forth. I shall never ever return here thank you!
bland bland bland.
I expected much more than what I received upon walking in the restaurant. The place had just opened for dinner it was quiet, the atmosphere was very nice the service was good but the food was not. I ordered chicken with cashews in a chili pepper sauce and was hoping for something with a little kick, but unfortunately, it tasted more like vegetable soup than actual Thai food. To be honest, there wasn't really much flavor to it at all. On the bright side, the portions were very large(enough for two meals) but who wants to eat bad Thai food twice?
If you want something with a little spice I would suggest you visit another Thai restaurant. If you prefer bland, give it a try.
Never again . . .. The ambience was nice, if not a bit kitschy. We walked in expecting a good experience, but no one greeted us, so after a few minutes we sat ourselves. After 10 minutes of sitting, someone finally took our order. The spring rolls were filled with nothing but cabbage, which was dissapointing. We ordered the ginger fried rice w/chicken and the coconut curry. The food was hot, but that's about the only positive thing I can say about it. Presentation was great, but I have never tasted (or not tasted) food so bland. This restaurant definitely does not cater to people who like good service or food with authentic flavoring.
Not worth it.
I agree with the other reviews... the food is pretty good, but the service makes for a poor dining experience. I will say that the hot soup was very good, the spring rolls huge, and the entree's were all delicious... however there are too many choices around Houston to eat here. The waiters are very brash with customers... I would never go here on a date. When I asked what the Nit Noi sauce was the waiter just told me "It's brown!" A busboy slammed into me whilst I was sitting down. When I looked up to see what just happened he shot me a death stare.
The AC is also too strong.
No thanks. After receiving waters, we waited 15 minutes for the waitress to take our orders. Finally our beef w/ peppers arrived. The beef looked like taco meat and the waitress refused to bring us more than a thimble of soy sauce at a time. Service and food quality was pretty poor.
