I drive for this company, They treat the drivers much worse than the drivers treat the customers , Upper management all the way up to the owners are liars and thieves
Houston's Worst Taxi "Service".
Dreadful company.
Let me share my past three Yellow Cab experiences.
1. Taxi booked online for a night out. After 20mins the taxi had not arrived. We called and were told that it was close. I assume by close they meant in relation to Canada. Another 20mins an no taxi. Finally, 45 mins after the time we booked the taxi for, one turned up. The driver told us that the original driver assigned to our pick up had decided that the journey was too short and not worth his while.
2. Taxi booked for 6 people for dinner. 20mins or so after the taxi was due I called and was told that they had not yet found a 6 seater taxi and were still looking. But I booked in advance?! Could have told me sooner. We took two cars to dinner instead.
3. Taxi booked to take visitors shopping while I was at work. (I had somehow forgotten the past two experiences having boycotted Yellow Cab for months. Short memory it seems). No taxi after 25 mins and when I called Yellow Cab and waited on hold for 5 mins, I was told the taxi was 3 miles out. Fifteen mins later, still no taxi so I called a disgruntled lady at Yellow Cab and cancelled.
To top it all off, the staff are not especially polite or pleasant. When you call to check the progress of your late taxi they act as though they are doing you a favour coming to pick you up at all and do not seem to care when or if you get a taxi.
Their annoying phone recording proclaims themselves "Houston's Premier Taxi Service". Last time I checked the dictionary "premier" did not mean "most appalling", "inept" or "joke of a".
Avoid at all costs.
Here is salvation for people needing a reliable Yellow cab. My general experience with Yellow cab has been terrible, but I got lucky once and found a guy who runs his business like a real business. He is a kind family man, courteous, helpful, clean cab and most importantly, ALWAYS ON TIME OR EARLY! Yes, your eyes are not deceiving you. I cannot say enough good things about this guy, and when he went on vacation, and I called Yellow, they stood me up (4:30 in the morning) and I missed my flight. This year when he was on vacation, I tried to reserve with Yellow, and thought I would call them at 4:00am to make sure they came, but could not reach a live person. I chickened out and prevailed upon a friend instead. Call Terry Hawkins 281-250-7124 and tell him Teresa Cole recommended you. Good luck
Stranded in a wheelchair.
It's a shame they don' t want to work with a disabled customer...
Tried to set up a reservation for a wheelchair van online 4 days in advance for a service appointment for my wheelchair. Easy to use form, got confirmation email. When the time to pick me up rolled around, no cab. Calling in to check on service I get rude dispatcher telling me to call back in 10, no driver had picked up the order yet. Long story short, an hour and 3 phone calls later-still no driver. Customer service picks up phone and says "please hold" only to never come back.
If you are disabled, or need an absolute and reliable pick up time DO NOT USE YELLOW CAB.
always always late. terrible service. never show up in less than 40 minutes. and the customer service reps on the phone simply lie to you about the status of your cab, saying that it could be at your location any minute, when in fact nobody's coming to get you. they do save your details though, so you get a friendly response every time you call; and they know some of your frequent destinations, so you don't have to repeat the entire address again.
Wow!!!! Really they are just crazy!. all i can really say is if you see one driving down the road turn the other way and i wouldnt ride with them.....they definately need defensive diving classes.....always breaking the laws (i.e. illegal turns passing in no passing zones) and just not paying attention to others or the road....if by chance a Y.C. business owner happens to read this i hope they take to heart what i am saying and hopefully make changes to their companies and their employee's ethics
they stood me up!!!!!!!. I oredered a car for 7pm. i did this at 10:30am the same day. Ihad company over we were drinking because we were not going to be driving. at 7pm no one shows up. i start calling yellow cab. in fact everyone in my party called until we got someone on the line. their excuse.....no one picked up the call. i have $700 worth of tables reserved at a club.. sparing you my agony..........we had to drive to the club and ihad a bad time because someone had to now be the designated driver. no apologies or anything. yellow cab sucks. i will bash them forever. i cannot tell you how they just ruined my birthday for me and all of my parry.
Quickest option to the airport.. I frequently travel to/from Houston and always use yellow cab because the drivers are usually friendly and can get to the airport a lot quicker than the shuttles can.
Worst Customer Service EVER!. Rude, yelling, mumbling, depends on which of the thirty times I was transferred in 2 minutes you are referring to. I have used them a few too many times and this is my last. They have never been on time and when I call to check on the status I will get an outrageous variety of lies for answers. The customer service directors on the phone are completely incompetent and flat out rude. For your own sake and if you value timeliness- DON'T DO IT!
YELLOW CAB NEVER CAME!!!. The cab NEVER showed up! I had to take the bus, which made me 1 hour and a half late to my engagement. I called numerous times. The firt time, the operator told me that the cab was 1/2 a mile away, 10 minutes later the second operator told me that someone was LOOKING at my order and trying to decide whether they would take it or not. This was at 5:20, 20 minutes after the time I asked to be picked up. The third time I called, in tears, knowing I was going to be late, the operator yelled at me and told me that they couldn't MAKE the contract drivers do anything. What kind of business are they running? I made my reservation at 10pm the night before, giving them 7 hours to "decide" to take my reservation, yet I NEVER got picked up? I reserved a cab for 5am, and I had to take the bus at 6:22. I WAS SUPPOSED TO BE AT WORK AT 6AM!!!! I was going to my local Walmart to film a commercial, and in my business it's ALL about appearance, and being an hour and a half late doesn't make me appear well! This might affect jobs I could have gotten in the future, not to mention my current job. So, remember everyone, if you have to be somewhere that won't be a big fare for a cab driver, they MIGHT pick you up, or they might leave you stranded. Is that a gamble you're willing to take?
