I am glad we did. Everything we tried is awesome. We ate fish fry, shrimp pepper fry and chicken tikka masala. We loved their Mango Lassi as well, but next time we will take our wine bottle as they allow BYOB. Service is excellent. Interior could be better, but videos of bollywood songs completed our Indian experience.
Houston's Worst Indian Restaurant. This is the worst Indian restaurant in Houston! The customer service is so horrible it's unbelievable. We went with a couple of friends for dinner. My husband and I asked for sweet and salt lassi. The waiter took the order and came back after 40 minutes to declare that they don't have lassi!! My friend ordered the Hyderabad Chicken Biryani. After 1 hour, (unbelievable wait times, though the restaurant wasn't even half full) the waiter comes back and tells him that they don't have the Hyderabad Chicken Biryani but will get the Chicken Special Biryani instead! At this point we were all tired of waiting so we just wanted to eat something and get out. I ordered a South indian special combo which includes idli, vada and mysore masala dosa. the biryani and chicken curry were awful!! chicken is so badly cooked. they couldn't even make a decent dosa!! so much for south indian restaurant marketing. when my food arrived, it had 2 undercooked vadas and 1 dosa. there was no idli, i was not even informed about it. they just replaced my idli with another vada!! so none of us got what we wanted, only what the waiter decided what we should eat!! I am never going back!! Awful food, horrible customer service!!
Best Indian Food.
I'm a big fan of Abhiruchi (I go there at least once a week) and will explain why I think this is one of the best Indian places in Houston.
I work for and Indian company and spend approx. 4 weeks a year in India (Bombay, Delhi, Chennai, Hyderabad). I get a lot of homemade food their (my buddied always invite me to their home and I can't say no) and I believe I know what good Indian food is.
Now to the review. My GF introduced me to Abhiruchi and we went a few times for their buffet. The buffet is ok, but when I sit down and take the menu and the whole world changes. I cannot comment on the appetizers, because I never order them at Indian restaurants (too much food when the entree comes).
I have tried almost all the chicken dishes and most of the seafood dishes and I have never been disappointed. If you like spicy start with the medium (if you have an american palate this will be pretty spicy) and work your way up the next visit.
