Great service, great food. We came here for the first time for my husband's birthday. They were very attentive from the minute we arrived, and everything was done in a high class way but they were still very friendly and down to earth. They brought out dark napkins because we were wearing dark clothing, displayed the choice of steaks, and the wine choices were excellent. It was a class evening from start to finish. At the end of the meal, they brought out a complimentary dessert. Though I rarely have dessert, I tried a bite of the chocolate cake and it was moist and delicious. I would definitely go back. I did not witness any patrons who behaved inappropriately, as described by one reviewer who referred to "ladies of the evening". He was probably focused on that. We were there at 6:30 pm on a Saturday night.
Tired of the Scene.
I've been here several times, and the rest of the menu items are not as good as the steak entrees. I suggest skipping the appetizers, especially the trendy or fusion ones like the sushi rolls.
Do not order your steak rare, mine was frozen in the middle. However, I did go another time and had a mouth-watering, well-done steak. The mashed potatoes and asparagus were perfect.
Go here with a big group of friends for dinner, sit away from the bar, and ignore the patrons. The scene is much older, and the place has a derogatory nickname because it is known for attracting "ladies of the evening". I have a girlfriend who insists on going there on Thursdays, and she always meets married men who are there on business without their wedding rings.
I also have been to party catered by Mo's and witnessed one female and one male employee flirt and solicit the older patrons. I heard one young cocktail waitress ask a much older patron if he would pay her bills! I'm not gossiping, just reporting what I exactly witnessed.
The colorful, lounge-like patio is in the parking lot and is fine if you are a smoker. You won't be able to enjoy the patio if you are a non-smoker because of the cigar smoke. The torches outside are also a different touch, but I don't think it's cool to light them in the summer.
Best service in the area!. The service is outstanding! On top of that, you get a phenominal steak and professionally mixed drinks from a great bartender! You just have to try it!
Mo's!!!. mo's has been outstanding every time i have gone! I have been there several times with friends and family. I even booked my rehearsal dinner there for my wedding and they did a fantastic job! My service has always been great there and on top of things and even with my rehearsal dinner of 40 people they did an outstanding job. Food service and atmosphere is just awesome. Definitely recommend that you go eat there you will enjoy every bit of it!
Mo's The Place For Steaks. Mo's The Place For Steaks is one of my favorite places in Houston. I took my friend for her birthday and the food was phenomenal. The service was great. It is a great place to eat for any occasion. Awesome wine selection, fabulous people.
To die for Guacamole and Outstanding steaks.
With all the great steak places in Houston, I was not sure about someplace unfamiliar to me. It was a very convenient location after an afternoon of shopping at the Galleria. We had read about the guacamole named for Carolyn Farb so knew we had to try it. I loved it because it was not overloaded with onions, pico or other items most restaurants add. It was worth it just for that.
I also had the BLACKENED SALMON with a spicy Creole sauce and Tomato Basil Risotto. I love salmon and this was as good as it gets! Superb dish.
My husband had the "THE MCALPINE", a horseradish crusted ribeye steak and it was cooked perfectly to his specifications, medium rare.
The service was excellent as was the graciousness of the host who went out of his way to find us a nice table when he learned it was our first visit.
All in all we highly recommend Mo's.
New favorite spot!.
My girlfriends and I went to Mo's for dinner and drinks. Good service, great food (not too heavy like some steakhouses) and wine list.
I am looking forward to bringing my husband back for a steak so I can have the sea bass again!
Houston's Best Steaks. Pleasantly surprised by how wonderful our experience was. Food was delicious, not just the steaks, service was impeccable, and managers were very attentive and accomodating. A place where we will become regulars! Thank you, Mo's!
Mother's Day Brunch Management. From the menu that was advertised, I got the impression that there would be fresh waffles but the machine was broken or something. There was a really nice jazz singer & piano player that were really kind to my curious little boy and talked to him about music after playing two of my requests. I had a couple of great pieces of salmon sushi with smoked salt from the sushi chef (who was also really knowledgeable and seemed to really know what he was doing). The female manager on staff there was another story. I have a tendency to just stand back and observe people sometimes and the way that she spoke to her staff would be considered abusive to a dog, let alone another human being. I can honestly say that seeing the way that the staff was treated and the so-so food (outside of the sushi) will keep me from ever going back to this place. The musicians apparently play down the street at a wine bar, too. I'll just go there instead.
