I heard a lot of good things about Opus Bistro and I read some good reviews on Trip Advisor , so I gave them a try. Immediately,... I got the feeling that I was on the Kemah Boardwalk. The waiters were very familiar and, so was the food, ....unfortunately.... I know the Kemah Boardwalk like the back of my hand and it is not much different than the Kemah Boardwalk. Some of the employees are from the Boardwalk and the owner was the GM of Joe's Crabshack. I'm sorry, you cannot fool locals with frozen seafood.....shame on you...... other than that, the restaurant itself is plush and the view is scenic.......
As a senior dining room manager with the Pappas family for almost a decade, I have eaten at more than my fair share of very good restaurants. The meal from Opus is, however, without exaggeration one of the best ever.
The crab and mango salad: excellent.
The fried asparagus: wow.
The grits with shrimp: I am a Georgia boy living on the Gulf Coast and this dish will make you wanna' slap your mama.
My hat is off to the chef/owner Chris Simon and his team. The meal was fabulous, all the more so when considering the prices and location.
We cannot wait to make the drive from Katy back to the Opus Bistro. Our arrival will not be a moment too soon.

Great location overlooking marina and beautiful dining room also! Fantastic menu and REALLY good drink prices! I like whiskey sours made with Southern Comfort and they are dollars less at Opus than other places around the lake!
