NEVER AGAIN!!! – I wouldn't even rate it 1 star... -stars!! I took my mom here for Mother's day using a Groupon certificate. Yes it looked nice inside, no smells & staff in uniform. I did like that they were not talking amongst themselves in their language making me feel uncomfortable...being like if they're talking about my feet or something. BUT...it was too far for us & wouldn't go here on purpose...prices are too high for it being just another small shop in a shopping strip. The tech still left some polish on my skin after I had showed her some the first time. My design was blah! My 8 yr. old son could have done way better! Now for the good stuff...My mom's polish started to peel the NEXT DAY!! Then mine too...That never happened at the ones we go to at the mall...I did email them via their website to complain but never heard back. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AT ALL!!! Don't waste your time & money...if you want an upper class spa or something go by referrals.
Absolutely horrible – I bought a groupon for a pedicure, manicure, and mini facial and as soon as walked in the manager (I actually believe she was the owner) started trying to sell me additional services straight out the gate. Now, I understand this is their buisness but once I decline I expect that to be it. However, that was not the case. I had already declined the more expensive facial but when I got into the facial room she asked me what I would like as if she didn't already know what I purchased. I again asked for the mini facial which is what I purchased but she ended up do the more expensive facial anyway. There I was sitting on the table thinking "Man this is a long 30 mins." Not only was my bill higher than I wanted to pay, but I was also very late for my next appointment.
I will never go back here again. Unacceptable.
Don't sterilize tools enough~~ – The ambience of the place and the staff are both nice. However, I have a feeling that they don't sterilize their tools for the adequate amount of time...
My friend and I came here...I got a pedicure and she got a manicure and we both have nail fungus now.
Thoroughly enjoyed my pedicure!! – I went to Rumor has it this afternoon, after doing some shopping at Target. This was my first time and I was pleasantly surprised. I walked in and asked to have a pedicure, I filled out an info card and waited no more than 5 minutes.
Everything about my experience was great. The place is professional with a relaxing atmosphere. Everyone was smiling and asked if I needed anything. The lady who did my pedicure did the best she could (which was GOOD...I had to "coach" her on a few items...like nail length...) considering this was her 1st day of work and I don't think she has ever done a pedi before.
BUT, with that said, I will for sure be back to try the Shellac manicure!
awesome nail salon!!!! – Rumor has it...really has it! My friend and I walked in to just get a eyebrow wax. The place was so welcoming, so we decided to each get pedicures. First, the brow wax was amazing, I had never had anyone give me a head and scalp massage with that service! We have been in the salon industry for 6yrs, as a stylist myself, and i have to admit, This place is one of the best places i have ever be en to in Houston, not only did we love our pedicures and brow wax, but everyone was so nice and inviting, i felt like i was at home!! I will definately be back and recommend this place to friends. I cant wait to try other services in the upcoming weeks!
Outstanding – I have been to this salon over 10 times now. I have never had anything but outstanding service. It's amazingly clean, the staff are all very friendly, and the eco-friendly products are great. I love the way the scrubs (used in the rock star mani/pedi) smell and make my skin feel. They also offer tea, and other various cocktails. I would highly recommend this salon to anyone.
Great pedicure, horrible manicure! – I live near the Target shopping center and was pumped to discover a nail salon in the area the other day. I went in the next day for a mani/pedi, and was surprised to learn that it's $50 for a basic combo, but I was to get a $5 discount for being one of the first 20 people in on the weekend. I really enjoyed the pedicure done by a young, Asian lady--great leg and foot massage, but the middle-aged black woman who did my manicure royally messed it up. She cut my finger while trimming my cuticle, applied the polish sloppily, yelled at me twice for turning the pages of my magazine when my polish was wet (although I was only using the pad of my finger to do it), and when I needed the polish on one of my fingers re-done, I WAS LEFT TO DO IT MYSELF even though I was still in the salon! RIDICULOUS!
Yeah, this place has free drinks (wine or mimosas on weekends), but save your money and go somewhere else, preferably to an all Asian nail salon--I've gotten much better service and pricing at those.
Nice Place, Bad Manicure – Rumor Has It is conveniently located in the plaza of my local Target, making it the obvious new choice for my nails. I was pleased when I walked in and was instantly greeted, filled out a card about my preferences, and asked if I would like a drink... all pluses. However, the mani went downhill from there. The "basic" mani is $20, which is fine if it's done well. It was not. My cuticles could have used a bit more attention, especially on one nail where it was hardly pushed back, making the nail look short and strange. The hand/arm massage was brief and lacking. I had to ask for a second coat of color because the manicurist thought just one streaky coat was good. The manicurist also did not swipe my nails with polish remover after putting lotion on my hands and put the top coat on haphazardly, missing some spots, which of course led to the immediate peeling of the polish. I had to remove the color the next day. I can spend $15 and get a superior manicure elsewhere. Will not return.
