Refused to service hotpot to customers? worst service ever.
The food at Little Sheep Mongolian Hot Pot is awesome, but the customer service at the Houston Location is not so pleasant anymore. Of my own example, when I went there with my family, we got to the restaurant around 1:40pm, the restaurant wasn't closing until 2:30pm for lunch. The manager of the store refused to serve us Hot Pot, his reason for not serving us was "we might not be able to finish before 2:30", and he tried to convince us to get other cooked dish instead, but isn't little sheep famous for Hot Pot? Why would I come all the way from Sugar Land to eat some cooked dish when I can get better ones in Chinatown?
Finally, a very kind waiter (NOT the manager) sat us down, and told us he will go ask the kitchen to see if it is okay to service Hot Pot, and the kitchen said it is fine to place any order before 2:30. Afterward, there were a couple more groups of customers that came in after 2pm, and they ordered Hot Pots as well.
It was just a bad service overall, although I loved the soup based hot pots at Little Sheep Mongolian Hot Pot, but who wants to eat at a restaurant where you feel like being pushed to leave exactly at their closing time?? If the manager really wants his customers to leave at 2:30, maybe he should change the closing time to a bit earlier to accommodate for his own laziness.
CitySearch Editorial Review. Often described as “Asian fondue” to the uninitiated, hot pot is a kind of DIY meal where diners boil ingredients in a bubbling pot of broth at the table. The specialty at Mongolian Hot Pot is the sliced lamb, although a range of meats, seafood and vegetables both familiar and foreign round out the menu. Fluffy, steaming sesame bread and pickled cucumbers are the stand-out sides. The restaurant is done up in comfortable, modern leather seating and makes for a festive group outing, especially since having at least four to a party allows you to order and sample more items.
Delicious Food & Excellent Service.
My husband and I been here for lunch a few times on the weekend, and we love it! The food is so delicious, and it is truly a unique experience. I think it would be a fun place for groups too.
As for the service, everyone was extremely attentive to us, answering our questions and making sure we had our drinks and soup were always filled. I saw the last review, and I guess they now have their act in order in terms of the service.
Great place!
A place to experience the worst service yet. First off, the food was great, no complains there. However, never forget service will determine how much you will enjoy the atmosphere during a meal. Throwing napkins at the table, giving you an annoyed attitude while trying to order more food, have to walk to the server to get some service every time, never came by and see if we need anything or even add some water, and much more for you to experience yourself if you go there. I've been there three times with different server each time just to make sure that it's not just that one server's problem. Now I'm done with it. Hope no one else has to go through this kind of experience.
