When you make an appt with a customer don't be a no-show without a phone call (3 times). Don't sell "seconds" fabric as if not defective, such as black velvet whereby the dye comes off on the seamstress' hands, and a patterned fabric that is slanted. When you install plantation shutters and you notice there are damaged slats point this out to the customer, rather than have the customer discover it several days later. Don't tell the customer her screwed up order is a high priority when in fact the store manager is totally unaware of the numerous problems. Don't tell the customer several times that the owner will call her, when he never does.
Good selection but staff seems of little help. Fabrics and more has a good selection of fabrics and it's getting better all the time. The staff, however, seems to be more of a hindrance than help. I know what I want and I want to be left alone while I look at the fabrics and imagine how they would play out in my home. Some of the salespeople are too pushy. Please, I don't want help and if I do - I'll be sure to let you know. Derek came to my home to measure my windows and while he was there heand tried to talk me into choosing one of four designs that were showcased in the store. They were very nice - but not my style. After my home visit I went to the store to meet with him and each time I met with him he smelled strongly of alcohol. Didn't go back there for a long time but was in a week ago and things were back on track because he was gone.
Love this store!. I love going to this store. The staff is always so friendly and helpful. They have great fabric selections on all different kinds of fabric. I recently had some upholstery work done and it turned out beautiful. The prices were very reasonable too! I highly reccomend this store to everybody.
I understand F & M had some problems with their staff. Six months ago, I did not order anything because the staff was not helpful..
But I went back 2 months ago and the staff was totally different. I spoke with a gentleman named Derick and he was very helful. He made a comforter and curtains for me. The order was a week before time. I was so impressed, I had him do my living room and dining room. Agains I was completely satisfied. Derick is a great designer and he made my home look so impressive. Next he is going to do my Theatre room at a discounted price.
Owning my own business, I know good and friendly help is hard to find. If you don't complain, you will not know who did what. Thanks Derick...
Unbelievably rude!. I have never been into this shop and never will. I called to confirm the location and to find out if they carried a specific brand of upholstery. As I was asking, the lady interrupted me and said, "I have to go", which fairly surprised me, and when I asked, "I just need to know -" she hung up on me! I can't believe it. I have NEVER written a review about any company. To write a review you have to join the directory site, create a password, etc. - it's a hassle. BUT this rude person just got my goat. I need over 20 yards of upholstery and I will NEVER visit their store. I am sincerely stunned.
WORST COMPANY EVER!. Don't be fooled by the one star, I only put the one star because I had to in order to publish the review but they definitely don't deserve even one! This company was the worst fabric company I have ever dealt with. I ordered fabric from them and was having their "designer" Derek make a comforter set for me. I was thrilled when he told me he could have it done in 2 weeks! HA! After 3 weeks I called to inquire about the comforter and he said he would call me right back. I had to call him back the next day after I still hadn't heard from him. When I talked to him he told me when to pick it up and to meet him at 2, after 45 minutes of waiting he finally showed up only to show me the completed duvet cover. I DIDN'T ORDER A DUVET COVER!!!!!! I had to then come back the next day to pick up the comforter and I called beforehand to make sure EVERYTHING was ready since I then had to pick up my in-laws from the airport. When I got home and tried to make the bed I realized they had forgotten to give me the dust ruffle. I had to drive back to the store to pick it up. Dealing with their unprofessional staff was not worth having a custom comforter! If you do use them, get ready for a headache!!
