Great place to relax. With its strange, mis-matched decor and prolific writing on the bathroom walls this is an excellent place to kick back, avoid bright lights, and enjoy a stiff cheep drink.

Bar for all seasons!. Relaxed atmosphere, cheap drinks, great bartenders, eclectic crowd! One of my favorite bars in all of Houston.

Citysearch Editorial Review. Low-maintenance revelers follow this distant star to dive-bar heaven. Striking a delicious balance between honky-tonk and hipster haunt (and also a favorite of scooter gangs), the unassuming squat building seems on the edge of nowhere--all the better to let loose in. An alluring red glow invites you in to plop down on the vintage furniture and swig cheap beer or sip a celebrity-themed cocktail. Dance to the juke on the black-and-white-checkered floor and shoot some pool, or shoot the breeze at the picnic tables outside by the woodpile and fire pit. This is what Texas is all about.

Great Neighborhood Hangout. love you Big Star Bar. close to home, cheap drinks, casual atmosphere and patio fires. cheap cab ride home.
