Taqueria Lu Lu
Amazing Tacos!.
I used to drive past Taqueria Lulu on my way to the University of Houston everyday, and when they finally opened I decided I'd stop by for a breakfast taco.
Smart move.
The breakfast tacos are $2 each, and come fully loaded and stuffed to the brim. They are amazingly good. Lunch tacos are a little more, but they are also beyond description. You pay the same price for all types- chicken, beef, fajita, shrimp, pork or fish. So I reccomend the shrimp tacos.
My local taqueria beats yours.
I have an obsession with taquerias. They're like my favorite taco trucks but accept credit cards. Lulu's is just down from my office and I've been frequenting this pink shack since it opened in Sept - or maybe Aug?
I go at least once a week. They have your regular staples: egg + chorizo, or chicharron ... chicken fajita tacos, nachos, blah blah blah BUT they have SO much more like egg + poblano tacos! Umnomomnom. Oh and they're fish and shrimp dishes. Their tortas are the best I've tried. And I just recently had their burger with jalapenos, pepperjack and guac - 2 thumbs up! And a few pinkies, too!
2 tips: skip the baracho bean soup and they do get a fair clientele that ask if you can spare a quarter. But the guy behind the counter is SO sweet and tolerant of my attempts at Spanish. And its good food. And I can leave for under $5. No joke.
