“We found the food to be bland and the service mediocre.”
I love this place, in fact there are two of them and this is the original one. Both are wonderful and I loved that they always have warm chips and great salsa! Thats a must for me!
Finally!!. I've been on the lookout for some decent mexican food in the area and haven't had much luck until I tried San Lorenzo's Taqueria. I thought the beans were great, the tortillia chips warm and thin and the salsa fresh and yummy. I only tried the carna asada burrito and chips so far and they were delish. I look forward to going back and trying something different and dinning there. I'll keep ya'all posted. :)
Avoid this place!.
Don't know how such a place exists, much less survives, in the South Shore Harbour area, particularly given the obviously far better choices nearby.
"Food" is awful, unappetizing, poor quality.
Husband ordered chicken soup, which contained two large pieces of skin and dark meat on the bone, vegetable which was slimy and tastleless, save for the carrot pieces.
I ordered tacos al carbon and was served boiled-looking something (meat)? which was attached to a chunk of fat. Asked waiter why it wasn't grilled, he stated all food is pre-made. I asked him to take my plate away and instead bring me fajita meat cooked on the grill. He returned after a very long time with the original plate!
Iced tea was weak and not good quality.
Unfiltered city water tasted bad.
Charro beans were so-so, not very tasty and were lukewarm.
Tasted tortillas, which were warm and quite good.
Waiter had a very bad attitude towards us when we walked in, (spoke to us in Spanish), asked us what we wanted to drink before he seated us and what we wanted to eat just as we were opening the menus. However, his attitude was quite different towards a hispanic couple and their teenage daughters who came in after us.
Waiter did not like us complaining and refusing food which was nothing like we have at other Mexican restaurants.
I ordered a bottled Mexican beer and pico de gallo, so I could eat some chips. (The house salsa was a bland broth which, when I asked a passing cook to bring me something less watery and more spicy, the waiter brought back the original "broth" into which he had obviously poured hot sauce)! When the pico arrived, it was slimy and almost frozen.
Waiter handed me the bill, which included a charge for the pico, I paid and left.
We will not return. This place does not deserve any customers at all.
We've eaten at South Shore Grill, which is just nearby on the same side of the road and liked it quite well. We're looking forward to trying the Oriental Cafe next door and Tuscany Bistro across the road by Randall's.
For pizza in the South Shore Harbour area, Pizza King, across from Clear Creek Middle School, in a small strip center, is wonderful. The owner is a very nice Italian gentleman from New York. He told us Pizza King in NY existed before he was born. It appears, from the news articles on the walls, that his father and uncle, who came from Naples, started the business. Check out Pizza King for more goodies besides pizza.....great quality, made to order.
Too many places with good food and owners who appreciate their customers and don't serve inedible "food."
P.S. Whereas this place is unrateable, a rating is required, so I give it one "star!"
