What Our Expert Scouts Are Saying
There's sushi and then there's SUSHI, said very enthusiastically with a lot of gesticulating. The offerings at Katsuya fit into the latter category. This trendy new West Ave hotspot shares a see-and-be-seen corner with Eddie V's and boasts posh interiors by Philippe Starck. The hip backdrop will fall into the background; however, when master sushi chef Katsuya Uechi replicates much of the popular LA menu with a few Houston-specific items. The separate Dragon Bar offers a more lounge-y vibe for those who want to make the most of their face-time.
A Taste of LA Night Life.
I've been attached to 400 sage for the past few years, and I am telling you, whether you're with family, a hot date, or just friends, Katsuya is where it is at. It is a stunning restaurant with amazing art, big lips on the walls, and you really feel like you are living the high life in LA. The robata vegetables are so great. The black cod is unreal. The baked crab roll is heaven in a roll.
All in all, Katsuya may be new, but is is DELICIOUS, HOT AND FUN!
