Loved this place! my husband and I went for a mini-date on friday for lunch. Loved the casual ambiance yet sophisticated menu. The food was delicious, we shared octopus, I had snapper and my husband had a steak. Everything was so fresh and original, not your average typical restaurant. Our waiter seemed to be inexperienced, but the food made up for it!

We are already planning on going there for brunch to celebrate my birthday

Hit or miss... We dined at Sorrel for the first time this past Friday and was looking forward to trying their homemade charcuterie plate. Once we were seated we were given menus and we had to ask for the charcuterie menu otherwise we would have missed out. We ordered chefs choice and once served we had to ask the waiter to describe what the chef chose which is something he should have done on his own. The plate however was good. The mains were hit or miss. The filet mignon was good but the crispy duck was poorly named as the skin was soggy not crispy at all. The chocolate deserts were great but do not get the beignets unless you want to eat cornbread for desert. For the price we paid, the quality of service and food I would not return here. there are much better restaurants in Houston!
