Part market, part cafe, u can come here for some coffee or healthy lunch or stop by at the end of the day for locally sourced meats /produce. Chefs source a lot of their product here, so while you're sitting there having your having, you might spy several walking in and out of the kitchen. I certainly did.
The Quality of the Food Here Matches Its Charm – Small neighborhood grocery/cafe, caters to those who appreciate eating locally raised meat, produce & goods. Favs: charcuterie , Maglista hot dogs & coffee.
Absolutely adore this place! House made meats, jams, spices, etc. great menu for lunch and excellent coffee. Definitely a treasure!
I have been spending over $100 weekly at this place, and have nothing but rude excuses. I go for a decaf latte and scone every morning. Last month they were out of "Truvia" for over a week. When I asked the supervisor, she gave me some snotty remark. The barrista had been asking her to get it for the week, since they do not carry any other artificial sweetners.
Then a week later they were out of decaf coffee! Now what latte establishment runs out of decaf. They were out for 4 days. I had given up with the snotty excuses and stopped going. An employee asked me to try it again. I tried it for a few weeks, and once again, no decaf coffee. The manager blamed it on the supplier again.
This was a good place to go for sandwiches and lattes, cookies etc , but the snotty excuses they offer for their short comings are inexcusable.
If you want a latte and scone save yourself the trouble of going there and go to starbucks...and much nicer employees
Best hot dogs ever, great market products. Things are pricey, but it's because they're using super high quality everything. Bonus: cookies.
Fun place with neat stuff – We stopped there on the way out of town after reading a review in, I believe, the Chronicle. The fruit and produce looked great, and they carry the olive oils from the Texas Hill Country Olive Company, which is located near Dripping Springs and produces some stellar olive oils--we bought a couple of bottles for gifts.
The deli style menu looked great, but we'd just eaten. This is a fun place to visit on a leisurely Saturday morning tour of the Heights. It's off our normal trek, but will return anyway.
