OUR VOTE FOR BEST BEACH!.
This beach is so off the radar and misunderstood. Went with our entire family and several friends met us there. Cute girl at the entrance gate, polite (spoke english) and very helpful. The beach boys helped us unload our stuff and carry it to our location and the beach girls helped us set up our extra umbrellas and chairs, had our lunch delivered and were accomodated with the volleyball and net set up. Alcohol allowed but not a drunken brawl. After talking with the owner and reading their story on the website these people get more than 5 stars they deserve a national monument for what they've been through especially with the bad information the state of Texas sends us Texans about private beach owners. The city and state should stand behind this great property, these people and hook their water up! For goodness sake they've been around longer than the city/state beaches, politicians and city staff. I would encourage Houston to continue packing in on Porretto Beach it's a great diamond in the rough and they are bustin' a move for tourist under pretty tough conditions and NO HELP FROM CITY OR STATE. EDUCATE YOURSELF ABOUT THE BEACHES AND SUPPORT THIS ONE!!! I am almost inclined not to share and keep our secret-WE LOVED IT -WE'LL BE BACK!!!
