Great lunch!. I love the other Ruggles around town, but a friend and I decided to meet up at the new Ruggles Green in City Centre. The wait staff was friendly and attentive, and the food was amazing! Some say it's a little overpriced, but as a self proclaimed foodie... I don't skimp when it comes to eating fresh and organic ;) I would (and will) definitely recommend this location to other friends. Great job guys!
We only go here for the dessert..
I personally think it's a bit overpriced for what kind of food you get, but my boyfriend and I tend to return because of the atmosphere, the service, and the dessert. The food is 'eh'... anyway, onto our personal review of this place:
I've been to Ruggles in Rice Village and also Ruggles Green on Shepherd, both being mediocre. So when they opened one in City Centre, I decided to try it because a) it's conveniently close to my house b) it's new c) it had a nice patio.
My boyfriend and I opted to sit outside on the patio because it was a gorgeous sunny day. It can be a bit crowded, but it is still a nice place to eat. My boyfriend ordered the Cuban Pork Panini Sandwich and I ordered the Hatterman's Organic Egg Sandwich. My boyfriend's panini wasn't "anything spectacular" (his exact words)...
My egg sandwich was WAY overly salted and runny and very messy to eat. It would have been tolerable if there wasn't any seasoning on it. I'm not kidding you, half of my eggs were black because so much pepper was on it. The ham was extremely salty (as were the eggs) and the sourdough bread which it came on was mushy.
As much as I like the decor and service, I don't think I will return for their food, only their dessert. Sorry Ruggles Green!
However, I have to be honest. Most of the 'new' and 'happening' places that have popped up in City Centre are overly hyped and not worth going to so I wasn't surprised that my boyfriend and I were severely let down by this place.
