good sushi. The sushi restaurant is located in the oddest area in a small shopping center in Chinatown. After several drive-bys in the past couple of months, I decided to give it a try after reading a couple of reviews of it on another website. When I first walked in, I felt like I was in another decade (the decor doesn't scream trendy nor your typical restaurant of any sort), but surprisingly it felt quite cozy and "homey". It definitely was a "mom and pop" shop, since technically there were actually only two people working there at the time (I'm assuming it was actually the wife and the husband who happened to also be the chef behind the sushi bar). Aside from my first impression of the place, when we received our order, the food was actually pretty good. They definitely weren't sheisty in their portions for what we paid for it. Prices were reasonable (not cheap, but not too expensive either). I was hesitant at first to walk into the restaurant because it didn't seem that busy from the outside, but I'm glad I gave it a try. I would definitely come back to this place again!!
Great Place Close to Home!. This is a sweet little place located on Bellaire between the Beltway and Wilcrest. If you want really good traditional sushi, and don't want to travel down Westheimer or across town, you've gotta try Sushi Miyagi's! The fish is always fresh and wonderful and the owners are extremely friendly. The con is that it is a small intimate place, and they only have one sushi chef, so if you are in a hurry, you may want to go somewhere else. BUT! If you have time to enjoy someone's company, and want to eat some really good food, this is definitely a hidden treasure in Alief! They also have a private "traditional" dining room. :)
