What Our Expert Scouts Say

Melange Creperie
August 14, 2012

One of the best "restaurants" in the city. These crepes are sinfully delicious. And Buffalo Sean is very entertaining while you wait for the crepe, as there is sure to be a line. Don't be afraid to customize your crepe, either. He'll happily oblige.

Holy Crepe that was good!. If I would have gone by Melange last week I could have used this as the Best Thing I've Ever Eaten review. My trip here was amazing and not just because the food tasted great. This really is what eating should be about. Good food, laughs, and conversation. It's about the experience.

I walked up to the Crepe stand and got in line behind 3 other people. The Crepe maker happily took my order as he worked on the other's previously placed orders. Seven of us (strangers) stood in line waiting, smiling, joking and chatting. As he prepared the crepes he chatted with all of us about the weather, where we worked, and about a friendly bird that sauntered up. Apparently the bird is a repeat customer he tells us as he tosses it a piece of fruit.

The crepe I ordered was a Fig, Honey, and Goat cheese Crepe. It was perfect. The figs were grown locally and he picked them himself. The combination was soft, sweet, gooey and fresh. Other flavors they had were Gnutella and Banana, and grilled zucchini with ajvar.

I highly suggest stopping by anytime you see them at the corner of Westheimer and Taft. Follow them on Facebook or Twitter to find out the days and times they are there. It's worth it!

Delish!. I stopped by Melange today and Erin, the girl making the crepes, had be a super server at another nearby restaurant. She told me about Melange and the crepe selections (I got the last one, so don't wait to go) and the hours: 7 AM to 1 PM. Fillings vary and they do run out, but the crepes are worth it!

Mine was filled with Nutella, the luscious European chocolate hazelnut spread. I had planned to share it with a coworker, but the crepe didn't last that long. I can't wait to go back!
