Mashawi is pretty awesome. I've been to a lot of hookah bars and so far this is the best one that i've ever been to, the taste of the hookah is very strong and I could be smoking it for about 2 hours. Me and my friends go there every night, and every moment over there is memorable to me because of the fun I have over there. I remember last week they got this awesome DJ and it was probably one of the best nights of my life. And don't even get me started on the food, when you eat anything over there you could feel the food dance on your tongue and my favorite meal over there is the Mashawi Mixed Grill, whenever I put a bite of it in my mouth I could literally feel the meat just melt on my tongue and it isn't chewy like other places. And the staff over there is very friendly and I feel like I'm at home, I've never been to any place like Mashawi before I LOVE IT!!! I haven't had any complaints and I don't think there'll be any :)
Come and Enjoy :). I have been to plenty of hookah bars and i have not stuck around to any place as much as mashawi! I have been coming here for about 7 months now and absolutely love it!! The enviroment is wonderful and the food is phenomenal! The choices are vast and unique. The hookah is also wonderful, coming in many flavors and styles, ranging from fruity to sharp and strong. The service is warm and feels like being at home. I've never had a complaint and don't think there will be any for days to come.
Houston's WORST place to eat or do anything!!!!!!. OMG.... can you say NASTTTY! Because that's what this place is. I read the Houston Press article about the "creamiest hummus in town" and just had to try it. Well, I am starting to think the person who wrote the article never actually came to the place and must have had it delivered to him/her because the restaurant is filthy. I went their for a first date with a guy, and the worst part of the evening wasn't the guy for once, it was the disgusting restaurant. How does this place pass inspections. My menu actually had big goops of dried food on it and it was sticky. The lady serving us was in her pajamas with little pieces of something in her hair. Their were pre-teens there smoking hookah. The floors are/or have never been cleaned. The weird part is that this place is supposedly newly opened, but the only thing new there was our presence. It took forever to get water. It took even longer for the waiter/owner lady to take our order. You know how when you go on a first date you come upon these awkward moments of silence, well this didn't happen because the dirty restaurant and the bad customer service gave us much to speak about. So, I finally get the creamy hummus, but soon realize that creamy is pointless when there is NO flavor. I love hummus and can tell you this was the worst hummus I have ever had. Oh yeah, the menu says pita bread comes with the hummus, but I learned that only happens if you remind the waiter that and then wait ten minutes to get it so by then the ground beef on top has left a greasy residue on your hummus and the ground beef is now also cold. We decided to skip the entree and get our check, which takes even longer then getting water. I felt like I was in the DMV line just waiting the whole time I was at this place. The only good part of going to this joke of a place is that it gives you something to call your worst restaurant experience in history. BEWARE!
