Tips for Samurai Japanese Restaurant

Great Addition To Bellaire. My husband and I had dinner at Samurai last night and were so pleasently surprised with our delicious meal. We both had the Habachi style meal and if was fresh and perfectly cooked. We cannot wait to go back!

Great Restaurant Treasure - Japan in the heart of Bellaire. A taste of Japan in the middle of Bellaire. Enjoy!

This second restaurant, started by two brothers, is the upscale version of the original in Webster, TX. No expense was spared to create the right ambience and feng shui. And, the sushi is "top shelf" premium quality, flown-in daily.

While Mike and Mai operate the Webster location, John and his wife, Mee Ho, run Bellaire. John is always creating new combinations, and is the master inventor of many of the exhaustive menu items. Having trained in Japan, he personally trains each of their samurai chefs at both locations. And, has one of the best senses of humor you will find anywhere.

I've used the restaurant for large business groups in their private samurai dining area, entertained customers in the separate table service area, or just solo enjoyed the atmosphere at the relaxing sushi bar.

They even have a secluded, elevated private samurai table if you desire an intimate setting.

I go every chance I get, whether I'm in Bellaire or Webster. Beyond the top shelf food, the personalized service is incredible. Some of the best wait staff around.

Enjoy!

Fun new addition to Bellaire restaurants. This was our first visit to Samurai so we did not know what to expect. We came with a group of 7, which included our infant and toddler. Upon arriving, a high chair and booster seat appeared at the hibachi table before we even got a chance to request them and our drink orders were taken immediately.

Our waitress, Michelle, provided excellent service and gave our kids everything they needed before we could ask for it. The food was whisked on and off of the table which kept our kids relatively quiet and happy.

The chef, whose name was either Ping or Jeff, (he was always joking around), provided a great presentation even after my daughter cried when he made a huge flash fire to kick off the show. I've been to other hibachi places and the chefs were so-so and just going through the motions. This chef made the evening fun and the food was great. We had edamame, chicken, beef, scallops and shrimp and all were excellent. My picky three-year-old wouldn't quit eating the chicken! I would definitely choose this restaurant over Benihana or similar restaurants.

I can't wait to go back to Samurai without the kids and try the sushi for a completely different experience.
