Great New Addition to Washington Ave Area. I have stopped in twice to Absolve. It is a really cool place and very tastefully done on the inside. The vibe is really cool and laid back for a wine bar. Everyone in our party had a good time including those who drink beer (good bottled beer selection). Crowd was well dressed, but not pretentious.

We tried the cheese plate, and it was one of the best ones I have had in the area.

Wine selection was extensive and moderately priced. We will definitely be going back.

Citysearch Editorial Review. With its deep blue walls, baroque wing chairs and profusion of odalisque paintings, Absolve does a commendable job of transporting visitors from its strip center location, handily situated next to a Quiznos, to a much preferable bohemian parlor. The smallish space is outfitted with couches and dimly lit, perfect for snuggling. Wines at the lower end of the price range can be easily sourced at the local liquor store and the sangria is only serviceable but if you consult one of the attentive and unpretentious servers, you can find something worth your time.
