My and my honey was searching for a new place to eat last Sat. night on the North side . I can say gladly this place was outstanding!!! The sevice was excellent. The food was some of the most outstanding South American food I have ever tasted. Out waiter was very helpful and pleasent. The restuarnt was very inviting and I would tell anyone if you are looking for a great dinning experience, Please make your to Guayaba.

"Unique, one of the kind latin restaurant"

We visited Guayabas Lating Grill on Wednesday, October 14, 2009 for a notable wine list tasting. The restaurant is located in the northwest part of Houston serving the Willowbrook and surrounding areas. The restaurant is unique in that it strives to provide Latin American Cuisine encompassing several South and Central America countries as well as Cuban cuisine specialties.

The restaurant's ambiance is perfect for the romantic special evening, the noise level is moderate and the selection of music takes you to a far away place making you feel like you are in South America, or Cuba.

On this special occasion Guayaba Latin Grill served Spanish Tapas (Appetizers) with wine from Chile, Argentina and Portugal. The tapas were original in creativity and taste, they were delicious, and substantial enough not to be overwhelming, keep in mind we were going to taste six wines with six Appetizers, so the portion was important. We left the restaurant completely filled to say the least.

The wines were all excellent but we determine the “Finca Roja Merlot”, form Argentina took first place with us.

The service was outstanding, the waiter was well verse in the knowledge of wines, he provided the history, the make up and even the % of its content, i.e. alcohol, of the wines. Imagine having to memorize six or more types of wine literature, (painful), rather enjoy it.

My wife and I really enjoy visiting this restaurant, it’s a unique, one of the kind restaurant in all areas mention above in the city of Houston. We will continue to visit and enjoy the music, the ambiance and the tasting food this restaurant has to offer. We encourage you to visit and make your own lasting memories as you travel to South, Central America or Cuba, here in the City of Houston.

Friendly service, GREAT food!!!

Anytime I come down I-10 from Austin, I have to make a stop here. My favorite dish is "Pollo Guayaba", stuffed chicken breast with shrimp and spinach topped with guayaba sauce. It's absolutely superb.

Not sure about your Latin favorites yet? Ask the staff, they haven't steered me wrong yet.

Also, they're always hosting some fun event. I recommend getting on their mailing list to see all the features that come up.
