don't. really just don't.. Where do I begin ... I wouldn't live here again if they halved our rent. This place has been a total pain in the ass. Construction quality is poor. They've got hardwood floors and granite, but not much else. It's noisy. I can listen to the guy in the apartment above us take a piss. We have had leaks and mold in our unit. Office staff is ok, but not terribly competent. And I know two people that have been burglarized in the past month. Security isn't close to what it should be - there are some basic things the management could do to really improve things. Ah yes, and the bugs in our place....in short don't do it. You can do so much better. Can't wait for our lease to run out.

And as a final note to the staff who will inevitably read this - do you really think two 5 star placed advertisements will convince anyone on the background of numerous scathing reviees? rather pathetic. Best focus on improving things for your residents, rather than planting false reviews in online forums.

STAY AWAY. The only positive thing I have to say is that the parking garage is well lit & as a single female in her early 20's, it feels very safe and I am never scared walking to or from my car. The negatives: where to begin?! 1)Customer Service is NON EXISTENT. You will never in your lifetime be able to get the front office on the phone, either because they ignore it, or they are never in the office; they hide out in the back chit-chatting. I have stood in the office and called them on multiple occasions and watched as no one answered. This is my opinion but I find them quite cold, condescending, and unhelpful. It took multiple emails, office drop in's and a month to get my renewal contract sent to me to sign. If you need a light bulb changed, you have to buy it, and let them know so that they can change it. Ha! My boyfriend lives at Camden Greenway, pays ~$900/mo and they will provide the light bulbs and replace them. Your key fob? Yup, if it goes out, you have to go to Walgreens/CVS/Target, purchase the battery and change it yourself. Your fancy built in brita water filter goes out? Don't worry, maintenance will come and reset the light, not change the old filter. Gross. 2)noise, Noise, NOISE. I live on the pool, what a disaster. The first year was great, it was a nice group of tenants, and then Jersey Shore moved in and brought all their buddies to the pool and threw obnoxious parties with LOUD music that went on till night. Not to mention these rowdy riff raff losers "hold" all chairs with towels as early as 9am. I complained to staff, a lot. Nothing. They told me to call the police and staff has done nothing, not even a lousy letter. Last week a rowdy neighbor & his drunk pals around 330AM threw a melon from the 4th floor off their balcony and it exploded all over the pool area. Needless to say, I took matters into my own hands. Neighbors above you are loud, you can hear everything from them walking, cleaning, showering, getting ready for work @ 5am, doors shutting. MUSIC. EVERYTHING. 3)Parking is inadequate, get ready for zero parking after 6pm M-F and close call "fender benders" every day as the garage is too small for two cars to pass each other. Its awful. 4) The rain shower was great, until you get water damage in your bathroom. The wall bubbled and crumbled off, and they did a poor job fixing it. They used a different shade of paint and grout. And then the pests, AKA: Silverfish infest your home. I still can't figure out how to prevent the water damage & mold & pests from occurring in the "luxurious" bathroom. 5) Overall appearance of the complex and standards are NOT up to par with what a luxury apartment should be in River Oaks. I was told to remove my folded camping chair from the balcony, fair enough, I did. However, it is now okay to leave HUGE workout equipment, ping pong tables, Christmas lights, coolers, and folding camping chairs on the balcony. Management does not enforce the rules. Not to mention, satellite dishes unfortunately are allowed to be installed on the balcony. Also, the black paint on the exterior of every balcony around the doors and windows is chipped or peeled off. It looks run down. 7) People leave trash NEXT to the trash chute, it leaks all over the ground. 8) People leave dog poop in the hallways. 9) The elevator is always broken. They don't even leave a sign letting people know it doesn't work, again. 10) The garage gates break often, and they sit open for days to a week 11) Rent is too high for such poor living conditions. The renewal rate is obscene, at least $100 each time, with very little notice.

Read This BEFORE You Decide. When an alarm goes off in one apartment, it goes off in the entire building. Its a very loud high-pitched annoying sound and can possibly give you a heart attack in the middle of the night. Human's can simply just walk out of their units and away from the noise, but most pets are stuck if their owners aren't home. Over the past few months since I've moved in, the building alarm has gone off at least five(5) times, twice in the middle of the night, on the same night, one at 1AM and the second one at 2AM. Management will not send out any notice/letter or make anything to address the "why" they kept evacuating all of their units for no reason.

Building safety and security, there really isn't any. During their business hours, you can easily walk through the management office to get to the rest of the building, so forget what they say about "fop key" safe and secure building access. Delivery packages are just left on the ground in front of the doors, so that can easily be taken at any time of the day. There's hardly any cameras in or around the building for any form of safety, like they tell you when they're selling you on the building.

The only cameras in the parking area are all on the first floor entrance. There have been a lot of vehicle break-ins in the middle of the night. Shattered car windows can be found on various floors of the parking garage at any given time. It may not happen every weekend, but every few months is pretty often enough. The best management will do is tell you to file a police report and they will blame you for it instead of adding cameras on every parking level.

Parking in the streets isn't any safer, its an easy target for a hit and run. There was a car outside the building that had a letter it asking for eye witness for their hit and run, doubt anyone came forward.

If you get bored, walk down the hallways, you can hear what everyone is talking about inside their apartment from the outside. Inside the apartment itself... eh, its what you make of it, but note there have been notices sent out about apartment and storage break-ins also.

So good luck!

Large rent increase. When it came time to renew my lease management tried to increase it by $400. I decided to leave instead.

I have also had 3 packages stolen from my doorstep during my year there.

really bad stay away. Oh I wish I had paid attention to the other reviews. Everything is accurate. Bad finishes, bad quality, very very noisy, rude and aggressive employees. Refuse to stand behind any of their promises and only care about getting money out of you. Ridiculous inflated late charges and horrible communication.

Shower leaks, noise from restaurant, peeling floors and bugs.

Looking for a great neighbor. If you have never looked at this complex I would suggest that you add it to your to do list. This place is great! The staff is really friendly, maintenace issues are resolved quickly, and we really have a nice mix of people living here. I have made some dear friends while attending some of the social functions offered by management. Most recently was a cooking class by a famous chef! You can't beat the location either. Now that it's warm out you can walk to Whole Foods, Berry Hill, Avalon Dinner, the Antique Pavilion, dry cleaners, day spa and much much more.

5 stars given to this luxury community. After reading some reviews I am really starting to question whether these people live in the same complex as I do. I have experienced none of the problems noted below and in fact I have never heard any of my neighbors say anything but great things about this place. La Maison offers a great value for all that is included! My brand new apartment has hardwood floors, granite countertops, crown molding, stainless steel appliances, and a relaxing rain shower. I even have a private yard which my dog loves! There is a nice gym, a nice pool area, entertaining kitchen, clothing optional sun deck (though I have never used it) and a parking garage. The complex even offers recycling which is unheard of in Houston apartment living. I have recommended La Maison to several of my coworkers and I highly recommend to you too! I promise you won't find a better place to live in Houston.

DO NOT LIVE HERE!. This apt is so far from “luxury.” We moved to Houston from a legitimate luxury apt in Boston. Our biggest mistake was not being able to see the apt before signing the lease (it was still being built). Oh, where to begin?! The walls are so thin, you can hear street traffic from the 4th floor. The management charges you for replaced light bulbs (far from luxury living). There is a nasty mouse issue. The management has a combined IQ in the single digits. They are strict about rent being in on time, but don't have a secure rent box, so you have to go during leasing office hours to make sure they get your rent. It's unlikely that there will be electronic rent deposits (refer to IQ). They lure you in with the fancy appearance of the lounge, which is useless since they actually lock it up after leasing office hours (meaning you don't get to see it if you have a 9-5 job). The rain shower bathroom leaks water out and doesn't keep heat in. There have been a number of car break-in’s, in the secure parking deck. The fire alarm goes off randomly and is PAINFULLY loud. My last straw was seeing mold build-up about 3 feet from where my newborn son was sleeping. This building was so poorly constructed, and NOT worth the luxury cost of living. Can't wait to leave.

DO NOT LIVE HERE. Um the apartment looks nice, but you definitely can hear the neighbors. It sounds like they are stomping on the ground. The garage door is never working. THey charge you to take your own trash out which they dont tell you about. I moved into the newer sections and get no phone service. I have sprint and other ppl across the way have at&t and dont get service. So make sure you check your phones. Also, the management is very unresponsive. They are definitely not about customer service. I would definitely try looking other places. I mean its nice, but not having phone service is terrible and when management tell you that you need to call your phone service to fix it, it isn't very helpful. When they can call and complain and get a booster for the whole apt for free! And we continue to ask for a copy of the lease and have yet to get one. I agree with the above reviews. They usually don't answer the phone, so the only way to actually communicate with them is through email. They went up $400 on rent!!! They were wanted to charge $2000 for a 1000 sq ft apt. Ridiculous. And when we moved out they charged us $550 to refinish the floors, which our floors had normal wear and tear and nothing major wrong with them. We are two girls that work 60 hours a week. We were rarely home to begin with. I would stay away. Plus, the mgmt company is a small mgmt company not located in Houston

Would Rent Somewhere Else. My experience at La Maison has been bad. I'll be glad to get out of here as soon as my lease is up - I only wish that there had been reviews available at the time I signed the lease, so I could have been better informed.

My issues with this apartment include the following:

Noise: I can hear my neighbors walking around and talking. I can even hear their alarm clock.

Gates: I've had problems with the parking garage gate and the entry doors. Sometimes they just quit responding to my key fob for no reason.

Fire Alarms: They go off all throughout the day. I work from home sometimes and it has caused major problems for me when on conference calls etc.

Fitness Equipment: This place is brand new, and already 2 of the machines are broken.

Community Room: The common room available for residents is only open until 5 pm...its supposed to be a lounge for you to enjoy, but who is going to need/use it during business hours???

Poor Quality: My apartment is brand new, but things were broken when I moved in. Drawers were hanging off the hinges, you can't open 2 adjacent cupboards at the same time (they were hung too close together), toilet was installed at an angle, poor quality of windows (you can hear a lot from outside). I could go on...

Rules Change After You Sign Lease: No BBQ or bikes are allowed on the balcony...suddenly all the close parking spots are reserved and you have to pay for them.

Basically, I would recommend looking at one of the other apartment complexes near by.
