A Taste of Philly in Texas. When this place finally opened up I was really excited. I think everyone has heard of a Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich and everyone has had many average ones. But this place is different.

The owner is from Philly and worked in Pat's, as any food connoisseur will tell you is one of the two best Philly Cheesesteak places in the country. Pat's was the originator of the modern cheesesteak.

From the wide range of toppings to the ultathin non-greasy ribeye steak the cheesesteaks are just great in every aspect. Oh and the bread is baked daily. The owner, Joe, really invested in this place to get the sandwiches right. I really like the Cheesesteak Hoagie, cheesesteak topped with lettuce, tomato, oil and spices, and then I make it Philly style with the "Wiz" and add on a Texas touch with jalapenos.

On top of the obvious they also have Italian sausage sandwiches, hoagies (known else where as subs), and of course the true Pennsylvania original, Tastykake's.

The owner is fantastic and the staff is very hospitable and helpful. I am so glad to see Kingwood getting a new influx of locally owned unique restaurants.
