“Also has the best chocolate malts around”
“like their root beer alot though!”
“The burgers are juicy and flavorful.”
“For the moeny most restaurants can compete and offer more flavorful meat and vegetables choices.”

“I'd come here again if I was in the mood for some good ol' greasy food.”
“All types of burgers satisfy all types of people at Prince's - of coarse, I love the Original with Cheese.”
“The portions are perfect, food served "hot" - or "cold" very quickley”
“long time ago, the best place to get fried shrimp was at Prince's.”
Peanut Butter shake ... I'll take you as my idol.
I'm a healthy gal. While not organic, I do count my calories. [and $] Houston Press had a coupon for a FREE shake with purchase of one of their burger deals. Hook, line and sinker for my 'day off.'
Lunch time is a parking manuever but definitely doable.
The options at Prince's are endless - burger, chicken, veggie patty ... not to mention fries or onion rings on the meals. [always onion rings.]
They have every burger your could every want: BBQ, avacado, plain burger - cheese?, onion + mushroom ... etc. Wheat bun? White? You're all set.
Wanna have the best experience of your life? Peanut Butter shake. Oh. Em. Gee. The pb is caked on the shake's metal bowl. Get a To Go cup. It lasts an entire day.
Side note: The onion rings are the flaky kind.
But kids: it's a burger joint. It's not a gourmet one at that. But it's a darn good burger.
Houston's Worst Burger Joint.
Prince's hamburgers claims that they use all natural ingredients....... I don't think so.
They use prefab meat, meaning they got it out of a freezer and reheated it. My friend's and my burgers looked identical in shape size & the "grill marks" on the meat even though we ordered two different items off the menu. The burgers were extremely dry and lacked any flavor aside from a hint of lighter fluid. The milkshakes were good though; they used real strawberries in the strawberry shake & it was very creamy. The fries and onion rings are very good too. So I guess if you are craving onion rings and a milkshake then this is the place to go. I would go down the street to get a Beck's Prime Burger though.
Great Burgers - Great place. I enjoy going to this Houston landmark almost weekly. Great burgers and onion rings. i was realy surprised at how good the fried shrimp are. The staff is really friendly to all the members of our church group.
Old School meal that fills you up. I stopped in here when visiting Houston recently. I was actually looking for the Burger Shack, but I found this place on the way. They have excellent malts and really good food overall. I can't say that the burger was the best ever, but it was thick and juicy, just the way it should be.
Decent food for the price. I went here for a quick weekday lunch. I ordered the Smitty with the fries and onion rings. The burger was pretty dry and the fries and rings were a bit soggy. But I will say that the food came out very quickly and is pretty decent for the price. I'd come here again if I was in the mood for some good ol' greasy food.
Original Fish Sandwich.
I used to eat at Prince's when I was a child. I always ate an Open Trout Sandwich. This was Texas toast, trout, tarter sauce and fries. So when it said original fish sandwich I had to try it. It was very good, but it was on a bun, not an open face sandwich and no Texas toast. A small amount of tarter sauce on sandwich. I do not think the fish was trout. Again the food was very good, the fish was excellent, the price was right, but the original sandwich it was not.
I did not even realize they still had Prince's in Houston. It was a fun evening for my son and I . I guess I could not have expected the same sandwich as in the 50's, but I did love it so. I wish it could be the same.
All talk No Show... I was reading up about this place, and found that it was also ranked number 3 for hotdogs. It also had raved reviews with how delicious the burgers were. Me and my girlfriend ordered two original burgers with there famous sauce. They messed up the order terribly, neither had the sauce, and I had ordered a double, and they screwed that up too. Not a big deal until i bit into my burger and realized it tasted like completely cheap meat. The fries that came with it were a limited amount, and soft. I also ordered a hot dog, and I think Ive eaten better hot dogs at movie theatres. Im surprised it has so many praised reviews.
Really Good.
A friend dragged my here, against my better judgement. Well, I'm glad she did. Our kids had lots of fun, the food was great and the service was good too. I have no complaints!
Try the Alamo Burger!!!
Best Value Hands Down.
I have eaten at several burger joints here around Houston and honestly have not met a match to Prince's.
They are the only TRUE old fashioned burger still around. I took my grandmother to the Katy Frwy location and she told me the Original and the hand-breaded onion rings still taste exactly like they did 50 years ago.
Thank you Prince's for continuing to serve the best burgers in Houston. If you are straving you won't be after a visit to Prince's.
The "Origional "with cheese -Delicious!!!. Yum!! Yum!! The '"Origional" with cheese is the way to go....so different than a regular burger....My parents had the same exact burger 50 years ago at the old location on Main street. The onion rings are the best! Service on Southwest Freeway location is VERY fast and is very kid friendly. Love it! Refreshing to have an origional icon still here in Houston!
