What Our Expert Scouts Say

March 22, 2013

I love that there's a food truck out. Located in the heart of Montrose just north of Westheimer, I love that there's always a food truck out front, that there are ample plugs for my computer, free daily wifi with purchase, and of course, coffee.

Laid-back coffee house in Montrose with great coffee and excellent taste in music and art. Love all of the combination/unique drinks too.

Grab a latte or bite to eat after checking out the art at the connecting Art League of Houston. This is your epitome coffee house.

It's a typical coffeehouse, but the wireless is free-flowing and no one gives you dirty looks if you stay a while. Look for food trucks too.

If you love art and coffee you should check it out. I always thought that I would hate whatever ended up at this location instead of the explosive inverted house that used to be here. I was wrong. Inversion Coffee is pretty awesome. I've been here a few times and always love the drinks i'm served. Although the straight coffee and espresso they serve up are nothing to write home about the "latte drinks" they prepare and especially tasty. I really like the Albino Haze, which is a Latte w/ White chocolate and hazelnut. They've always got great artwork and have rotating installations. It's a great experience going here!

Citysearch Editorial Review. Named for the startling inverted house exhibit that previously occupied the spot, this Montrose java favorite reflects the spirit of its sponsor, the Art League of Houston, with rotating art installations and an industrial nouveau-vintage feel. Splashy modern prints cover the back wall, natural light pours through the towering windows, exposed vents and track lighting hang from a high ceiling, and slick marble counters are the icing on the cake. Straight-backed chairs and espresso drinks keep the most common clientele, young studiers plugged into laptops, alert. Pastries like almond croissants and chocolate éclairs are available if you're craving a sugar rush, or snag a sandwich or smoothie for something more substantial.
