Wonderful Food and Relaxed Dining

What a great find in hustling, bustling Houston. We had the Filet Asada on a creamy queso corn sauce and the pork tenderloin in another delicious sauce. The chicken and sausage gumbo was really a soup, but a fabulous soup, and there are not enough adjectives to describe the most amazing coconut pie. This is dining at its best, delicious food and an easy, low key ambiance.

• Pros: Great Entrees and Oh That Coconut Pie!
• Cons: Small so you might have a wait..

terrible experience

Never in my life have I had such a horrible dining experience! When my family arrived our estimated wait time was 20 minutes and it took almost an hour. I understand this was an estimate, but it has always been my experience that the restaurant will over estimate to keep their customers happy. There was no waiting room inside so we sat on the patio in the heat. I watched several groups wait in their car for a table because it was so hot. Then when we finally got our table we received our dinner salads before our appetizer. While waiting for our meal we had been told by three different waitresses that it was on its way, it will be out in just a bit, and one actually told us that she saw our meals being plated and that they looked awesome. Our food took over an hour to get, and my brother’s pork chops that were suppose to be cooked medium rare were grossly over cooked. We saw a large cloud of smoke engulf the open kitchen and couples that were seated after my family got their meals before us… I can put two and two together. My mother asked one of the waitresses if there was something wrong with our order, and we were told that the tickets were mixed up but it would be coming soon. She offered us a free dessert, which we declined since we were already irked by the service. The chef came out and spoke to my brother and apologized about the mix up. If there was a problem to begin with own up to it, I understand mistakes happen, but do not lie to my family repeatedly about the situation. The chef offered to cook another plate of pork chops, which he did, but they were not seasoned well since they did not have time to marinate. Two meals out of the four were comped and we received a 50% discount on the other two. My family has traveled the world and to be treated like this in our own neighborhood...
